Default Chat Frame

Is there any way to modify the default chat frame so that the tabs are hidden, even when you mouse over the window?

I dont know If I understanded good what you are asking about, but if I did then theres an option in advanced options in interface menu "lock chat settings"

Not without a mod.

Anyways Blizzard has said they are changing some features of the chat windows in the INC patches and will soon revamp the entire combat log system so if you want to make this a suggestion post this in the suggestion forums on the World of Warcraft website.
