    Shaman.. hmm...

    Hello everyone!

I'm now a Shaman, 70 Draenei Shaman. I was now wondering what would be the best for my sake in PvP. I'm not the best healer and I don't enjoy it as much as Elemental/Enhancement.

    What should I do?

Maybe I could get an example specc for any of these who's good for PvP?

    Thanks :-)

Elemental - You could probably move a point from reach to mastery if you just can't live w/o it

Enhancement - This spec gives you pretty much everything you need from enhance for both PvP and PvE, early points in either of your offspec trees doesn't synergy too well with your core enhance abilities and unless you're pairing with a Disc priest the suppression from rage is almost a must.

Resto - All the non PvE oriented stuff from resto with wards and reverb for maximum lock down

Hope this helped a bit, though everything is always up for interpretation / experimentation. Just find what works for you.

    Re: Shaman.. hmm...

imo this is the best pvp resto spec
    http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=hxcZxbbZxcbtVLstez

you could go elemental for 3v3/5v5, sometimes elemental shamans can be pretty good in 3s + 5s, ive never tried elemental on my shaman though so i cant advise a specific build off wowhead for that spec

    Re: Shaman.. hmm...

I would say elemental would be your best bet.

Enhancement lacks controlled burst and closing ability.

Resto is rare in 5v5 and in 2v2 and 3v3 requires incredible skill/luck.

Is what I used to use.

    Re: Shaman.. hmm...

Personally, I do arenas as 8/9/44 resto (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=hxcZxbbZVcbtVxstjz), but I wouldn't recommend PvPing as a resto shaman unless you're already pretty dedicated to that spec. It requires a lot of timing and execution that can be not so fun to learn.

I'd suggest going elemental for PvP. If you're willing and able to put the effort into grinding out the honor, you can put together a pretty decent set (10.5k hp, 416 resil, 850 dmg) with only having to get the season 2 shield from arenas and the trinket and cloak from badges. Whether you like cookie-cutter specs or not, go with 40/0/21 (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=hEczVcMoqsxZxcdu0x) for elemental pvp. It gives you elemental warding which is clutch against all the mages and elemental shaman you'll find in 5v5s and 3v3s (there are lots in 5v5s), eye of the storm which complements the elemental shaman 4pc arena set bonus very nicely, the 3% spell hit needed for pvp, elemental shields which is amazing against rogues/warriors/hunters (you'll learn to loathe them), good spell crit, and enough healing talents to work as a .5 healer.

There are a lot of bad shaman who will tell you that you might as well not do arenas as a shaman, but that's just because they're bad. They'll also tell you that MS warriors are the dps backbone of almost all high rated 5v5 teams. They're wrong there as well. Elemental shaman are *the* backbone of a 2.5 healer team (holy pally, holy/disc priest, ms warrior, elemental shaman, and [insert ranged dps/cc here]). Once your warrior has a full rage bar and his target is purged of all buffs, pop BL+EM+NS+CL and watch the target lose up to 50% of his/her max hp (if LO procs, you can knock off 70% or more of their hp) and then get torn up by the warrior, the other dps/cc class, and you lightning bolts. If you run into a 4dpslol team, you can just fall back and be a tertiary healer until you're ready to burst them down. Elemental shaman are the kings of burst dps, and played well, they can be devastating in arenas.

    Thanks for your help

I'll definetly head for an Elemental Specc, but it's not too easy to get any Arena Teams which have faith in a Elemental Shaman =\

    But I'll show 'em! ;D

    Re: Shaman.. hmm...

Many people say that shamans doesnt work out in 2v2.. i dont agree

    http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=h
I recomend this specc for shamans in 2v2... grouping of with a mace specced rouge this specc is great.. You simply just want to stabilize the hp of both you and your mate.. and after that you can start doing very good dps and still ceep up good healing.. I expect to see alot of theese kind of shamans in +2k rating in the future.. though both you and your mate should have vbery good survivng gear before it will work out.

    Re: Shaman.. hmm...

The only way resto can succeed in pvp is in 2v2 against certain setups. Otherwise, unless you're running against some oddball group in 3s or 5s, they can lock you down without any problem. Solo healing is difficult and basically relies on the opponents screwing up. Survival as a resto shaman is LoSing dispells of Earth Shield and juking interrupts with gift of the naaru (sorry horde). Don't get me wrong, I can last a long time using all my tricks... but not having any hots or shield to make sure you get a single necessary heal off without wasting NS makes it difficult to keep other people alive if you're actively being attacked by a good player of the right class.

    Re: Shaman.. hmm...

I like to do 3v3s on my resto sham. I do it with a ret pally and a ms warrior. All i have to do is drop WF pop heroism and we win pretty quick only bad thing is when we go againts priest/warrior with their fear but all i have to do is drop tremor totem and we are good... But resto spec in arena's can be fun but u also need skillz as said above.
