    Elemental, Enhancement, or Resto?

    http://www.mmo-champion.com/talent/?...00000000000000
I'm thinking elemental, but what do I know?
The Flame Shock / Lava Burst Combo is going to be insane damage, but is Thunder worth giving up Nature's Swiftness?
Here's the only spec I got from getting Thunder, I don't know how this will work out, cause I suck at making up specs.

I don't have any enhancement or resto spec as of yet, I want to see what you guys think. Thunder or Nature's Swiftness?

But it's ok cuz he got a crit based talent for a spec that raids with less than 20% crit. NICE.

You're going off of TBC shaman, in wotlk it looks like chain heal spam won't be the only thing resto shaman are doing. But yeah, that talent build is goofy.

Not with Water Shield, and in Arena, if someone doesnt pop your mana tide totem as soon as you have placed it, then you are playing at 1300 rating
How much naar, could a naargaar naar, if a naargaar could gaarnaar

In PvE, yes we need it. I use it a lot in BT bosses.

    Re: Elemental, Enhancement, or Resto?

This is the new elemental raiding spec.

    http://www.mmo-champion.com/talent/?...00000000000000

Sure, thunder could be argued to be only useful in pvp however the 5% of mana returned is extrememly useful. If you guys haven't noticed it's not 5% of base, so it scales with your gear. As an end game raiding shaman right now i have almost 11k mana fully buffed.

With my current mana pool this grants me 61 mp/5 which is another 4+ bolts or whatever I'm spamming in WOTLK. Also consider that this scales, and I imagine with end game LK gear we'll have mana pools close to 15k.

Also bear in mind that being able to save your ass in a pinch is important, hence why the pve utility thunderstorm/storm, earth and fire/healing focus is important. Also read storm, earth and fire, increasing the periodic damage from flame shock. Since we will definitely be spamming this in LK for lava flow crits I see no reason not to buff it if we have a talent for it.

I could also see the following build being useful:
    http://www.mmo-champion.com/talent/?...00000000000000

same elemental options, with the addition of the watershield buff and the increased flametongue while still picking up the increased totem radius talent. This will probably be the spec if you are in a raid with very few shamans and for some reason they want you to drop flametongue over our hit/crit totem. This is also assuming the buff to the water shield orbs would also increase your mp/5 gained from it which would be nice to get confirmation of.

Don't bother making more builds until we see final revisions of these talents or changes because as of this moment those are the specs for elemental raiding.

    Re: Elemental, Enhancement, or Resto?

Unless static shock proves to be crap, this will probably be the best enhancement pve dps spec :

    Re: Elemental, Enhancement, or Resto?

    It's about prefrences tbh.

Elemental can and will be a strong raid member in WOTLK.
Wrath of air gives your raids casters that care to stay in the 30y range (imp totem something) a flatt 10% spellhaste buff.
The totem of wrath still gives 3% hit/crit to all members in range.
Now hit is not something a raider can afford to slack on while preparing for raids so that is still a useless feature on the totem, 3% crit is nice to have for all casters in the raid.
And if they skip on this the flametogue totem has taken the place of the old wrath of air totem giving 70+ spellpower untalented or something raid wide (yeahyeah, 30 yards i know).
Heroism/bloodlust will still be a winner in every bossfight.

Enhancement bring not the better buffs but more buffs to the table.
SOE totem now agi/str combined for everyone in 30y, UR for the party, they also can put down the flametongue totem for the casters in the raid en heroism/bloodlust to top the buffs off.
It all is nothing to joke about and together with the more than good dps enh shamans will be a verry sought after part/raid member in wotlk (now they can even hex something that excuse is out of the window to not take them to 5man's).

Restoration will continue to be a verry strong healer that seems to get some point heal <3 and can now not only dispell poison/disease but also curses and the 51pt talent is a really good way to split spike dmg from bosses amongst more targets.

I'm all in all pleased with the talents/skills as they are now, but as usual we have to see what remains when blizz puts WOTLK retail, because face it they are not shy to hit the shamans with the nerf bat over and over.

That's gonna be my WLK build.

52/0/19 is going to be such a cookie-cutter build now :s

    Re: Elemental, Enhancement, or Resto?

thunder is going to be a no no in pve other than a potential raid fight. no tank is going to like you blowing his mobs off the map.

imp water shield only works on crit heals. you're better off with mana reduction or pushback.

and storm earth and fire isn't worth the 5 points. the extra 600 damage over 12 seconds you'll get from flame shock is not going to be better than 1% more crit and 10% more int (max mana, mp5, crit, talents)

i think this build is what i'd go with for pure raiding:

    Re: Elemental, Enhancement, or Resto?

and ugh i want people to stop talkign about TOW over FT. your resto shaman will be dropping FT, and everyone in the raid will get it. along with ToW. It's not like there is ever a raid without a resto or enhance sham, and they dont have anything else to drop (maybe searing? LOL).

as an ele sham, youll get both, dont worry.
