Blizzard is allowed to remove talents entirely.

The paladin class isn't the only one to lose +hit talents.

Shaman- Lost natures guidance, Elemental +hit talent nerfed
Priest- Their +hit talent down from 10 % to 3%
Arcane Mage- Their +hit talent down from 10% to 3%
Affliction lock- Their +hit talent down from 10% to 3%

Those are the only ones I can think of right now, but perhaps Blizzard is reworking the hit mechanics?

Blizz are reworking a load of stuff for wotlk, including +hit and +haste no longer being specific to melee/ranged/spell.

So, if I understand it correctly, this means that an item with +20 hit rating will add to melee hit and also spell hit, making it much more useful for hybrid classes like paladins.

I believe that similar is true with haste ratings, there'll just be +haste and it'll apply to both your spells and melee attacks (and hunter ranged attacks).

Paladins will now share same gear with DK and Warrior. So the only conclusion is that they will add lots of hit rating on gear, becose for DK the only +hit talent is for 1h weapons, and to warrior its too deep into fury tree. So for 2h DK and arms warrior, and also for ret pally will have +hit rating on gear.

Yeah when I first saw this I thought, WTF!? >.< Then I did some looking around, noticed gear was getting more hit and we weren't the only ones taking a hit on precision-like talents. Now I'm rather glad I don't have to waste 8 points in that tree and can put them towards damage dealing talents!

What is this, a Ret complaining about hit, with 2H? You don't really need that much, infact hardly any. You geared up a rogue before? :P

You will get the amount needed without gimping your dps, Blizz thought about this before they got rid of that talent.

Hey you gained raid viability with the new talents/abilites so get over it.
Carlsberg don't make DPS, but if they did...
