How about this for a tanking DK?

    http://www.mmo-champion.com/talent/?...10510100000000

Im having a hard time deciding which tier is for tanking. All 3 seem to have something to offer though to me Unholy has the most followed by frost then Blood. I think not trying to get to the bottom tier is the best way to make a tank. This is what I think gives the most def and resistance.

Frost seems primary for tanking. Frost Aura and Unbreakable Armor seem like musts for a tank spec, I like to get those and spread the rest of the points around blood and unholy.

But anyway, the mmo champion calculator is out of date right now, use the one on worldofwarcraft.com/wrath

Its MANDATORY to spend at least 5 points in every spec as you can see

That being said deep ice is looking good (easier to make a spec if we know if raid bosses can have their attacks slowed with icy talons, but thunderclap works, why shouldn't icy talons?)

Otherwise you can go unholy for anti-magic zone and bone armor

Could go blood, but the only thing really there is mark of blood, which can easily be covered by another blood DK in the raid

Why, oh why did you get both two hand spec and nerves of cold steel in your first build? : (

This is what I would use for a tanking spec.

As you can see, 5 talent points are missing... they go into Icy Talons, whenever blizzard fixes that.

(points in Killing Machine to represent Icy Talons)

Necrosis looks like a threat monster. Icy Talons + Necrosis makes for a lot of threat from autoattacks.

Re: How about this for a tanking DK?

well 24/14/33 was built with 2h tanking in mind and mostly 2h magical bosses, yet also classical bosses.

but since there have been some major changes (bone armor and other talents being move from different tiers), i wil have to keep an eye on the talent calculator to see how to change it.

Re: How about this for a tanking DK?

I was thinking something along the line of this.
    http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/...00000000000000

Blade Barrier is great for mitigation and the extra parry also helps threat generation, Bladed Armor helps for more threat since it scales with gear, on a 18k armor (the potential value a DK can reach with toughness and frost presence at level 70) BA gives 450 AP, which is nice for in frost presence all attacks generate 45% more threat so white hits will generate more and spells scale with AP too so they will do more damage and thus generate more threat.
Anticipation in Unholy is nice for the extra 5% dodge.
The reason I put points in frost up till Hungering Cold was for a bit of aoe tanking, since you can use HC on mobs it freezes them in place, you use howling blast, it does double damage and will cause lots of threat and since HC also applies frost fever to all the mobs you can then use blood boil to force them to attack you if they haven't done it yet, or to generate more threat.
For just 1 point HC makes your aoe tanking life a little easier, it won't compare to paladins but it should get the job done in heroics and such, it won't work on bosses but all round its a good 1 talent point.

Something like this seems like a nifty build to me.
The points in acclimation can be moved to either Guile of Gorefiend or Endless Winter, depending on whether icy touch spam can properly keep frost fever up.
Also got Black Ice there only as a placeholder for Icy Talons since you can't put points into it in that calculator.

Re: How about this for a tanking DK?

Calculator is out of wack in Unholy, there are a lot of miswordings, typos. ex. Ravenous Dead.

Frost+DW for tanking, from what I understand.
Somewhere lost in the realm of cyber fantasy and my reality that is work.

18 in blood is kind of important and you all have skipped on it.
