Re: All 3 priests specs for WotLK.

    My first post on MMO

Lets say, I think you're quite underestimating Dispersion in PVE Content. Maybe it doesn't sound like a big deal giving a talent point for bit, but finally I must admit that it has some utility.

Espacially considerung the new "alchemy debuff", you could have some mana problems or health Problems too. I consider this skill as some kind of priest bubble. (-90%dmg) For example in encounters like archimonde, you get a "second Chance" by surviving de flame debuff...

My pure PVE build would be something like this: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/...152521351#none

Personally I don't need 5 points in Imprved Mind Blast for my spell rotation, considering that you might not posess any haste equipment during the first months of WotLK.

imo, take only 2/3 pain and suffering. if you really get THAT unlucky or resisted for 18 seconds and MF doesn't refresh SW:P then w/e, but 66% chance is enough for me. if you really need the 20% less dmg returned from sw:d fine, but i wouldnt really waste the 3rd pt =/

  6. #46

Re: All 3 priests specs for WotLK.

you made an interesting point, but I think SW:d could withoud skilling it (0/3) kill yourself easily.

However only the live experienve will show us, if these -20% are really needed.

But you should also consider, that you may not be spamming mind flay every time during those 18 seconds. So you could be "unlucky". I wouldn't ignore improves shadowform too, because there will be encounters where its pretty useful, but here we must also get some life experience...

Lets say, there will be some space for personal tuning finally in the shadow build depending on your gear / spell rotation, and sometimes even on the encounters of WotLK...

Well, I haven't seen many healing Disc/holy specs here, so here goes...

    http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?prie...00000000000000

This is centered on healing crits, PW:S and Grace.

    Any comments would be appreciated!

Holy nova is mainly filler in the last one, since I wasn't sure to do 3/3 renew or something like that.

Didn't take that serendipitykjhk thingy, since it seemed abit wasted atm need more info on how things go to pick it. Especially since it worked abit against Test of Faith.

    http://www.mmo-champion.com/talent/?...00000000000000

Just a test to see if you could pick the talents adding to spirit and such, nohing really serious.

    http://www.mmo-champion.com/talent/?...10305150501351

Just placed the rest in disc down to mental agi. since I have no info yet on how needed imp shadowform would be in pve. and rest in shadow seemed like pvp talents.

    you must not...
you didnt take imp spirit tap, bad call
you didnt get dispersion, definitly worth one point
and why 5 points in shadow weaving, wasted point, only needs 4 points.

Re: All 3 priests specs for WotLK.

Not sure why everyone is putting points into imp fortitude and leaving points out of Imp PWS in their shadow pve specs. Kinda stupid...Theoretically you only need 1 person in the raid with Imp fort, why on earth would you nerf your shield to give extra health when someone else can do it.

Here's my spec for raiding in WotLK:

    http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?prie...10305152501351

(Either 2/2 Imp Shadowform or 2/2 Imp VE, Depends on the type of boss fights we'll be facing)

Re: All 3 priests specs for WotLK.

    Shadow Priest PvE Build:

    http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?prie...12305150501351
Note: Skipping imp. shadow form in favor of imp VE. This may change depending on how much AoE damage there is and how much pushback it causes. (RoS is the only fight I can think of where imp. shadow form would be more useful) also you could take some point out of meditation for this instead.
    Shadow weaving - 4/5, as no-one needs 5/5.
Dispersion - this'll be useful in various situations. Every boss in BT has an AoE ability where being almost invincible for 6 seconds would come in handy. (oops fel rage, etc)
Pain and suffering - probably going to want full points here. SW feedback will be a Bad Thing with the changes to Shadow Power and spirit. You really want to regen the full amount lost by SW via VE as soon as it casts.

    Holy
    http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?prie...00000000000000
The focus here is on big crit-heals, AoE healing (CoH), and mana efficiency. Skipping Light Well because it's never going to be worth taking.

    Disc
    http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?prie...00000000000000
Bubble-spec. Based on instant-casts and crit heals to mitigate damage rather than heal it. This spec has low-power heals, but the mana pool is huge. The only issue is i'd like to put inspiration in there for the armor bonus. Oh and it has spirit buff too.

When you run out of mana. In WOTLK each player can only use one pot per boss fight, as of the current beta patch. This means personal efficiency and regen methods will become much more important. A well timed Dispersion in between shadowfiend CD's will make the difference between you going OOM and you continuing the pwn. It'll also be great for any fights with random AOE, pop it right when the AOE is about to begin, and you'll take a lot less damage.

Someone in the raid needs to have it, as this talent scales with Fort rank, and so it will be VERY, VERY powerful at lvl 80. Also as Meditation and inner focus are very useful and it's used to get there, at least for shadow. For Holy it's useful for survival purposes too, although I'd skip it. I skipped it for Disc as that build has spirit buff and very high stamina to start with.

Yea, a healer will have that, why on earth would anyone skip stun, fear and silence resist over that

A DPSer needs none of those things. Being stopped from Mindflaying for 3 seconds shouldn't cause any problems at all. DoTs still tick for the duration regardless, and SW and MB continue their cooldowns. Meanwhile, having imp.fort could mean your tank doesn't die while all your healers are stunned/feared/silenced.
The only way having this talent will make a difference between a wipe and a kill, is if you can land a PW:S, and heal (which you shouldn't be doing anyway) having resisted the stun/fear/silence. (Any boss which uses these abilities and has a hard enrage timer is probably badly tuned, as it's depending upon the RNG on resists instead of gear, and can be PvP trinketed against so it's a poor mechanic anyway.)
Besides which, everyone now has boss mods which say when the boss is going to silence, so you can land the PW:S just as it happens.

Do you do anything outside of PvP?

It's a 15% resist chance. 15%! For 5 talent points! It isn't all that powerful in PvE, really. It's useful if you're healing and a silence/fear/stun hits, you *could* get a *lucky* resist. How many times per fight is a boss going to silence you do you think? 5, 6 times? and you'll resist this... once, on average, at the expense of 5 talent points.

Now, maybe, if it gave 100% chance to resist all this stuff, it'd be worth spending 5 points on. Meanwhile, i'll stick with 1-point dispersion (oops silence inc *click*) and 2-minute PvP trinket (stun/fear *click*)

TBH, the only reason I take this talent at the moment is because improved wanding is even more useless, and it's needed to reach more useful talents.

Please read posts before you reply to them. You have no idea what your arguing about. I posted this spec:

    http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?prie...10305152501351

I'm asking why are people putting points in imp fort.
