Re: Blue: Rogue Update Pt. 2

What a surprise you would like to use your finishers for free, the fact is a finisher is your best damage to energy scaling ability why in the hell would it be free.

making a 1 point talent 5 in another spec entirely is a huge nerf not something that makes it more acessable it just makes poison talents you'd like unaccessable it's crap.
WTF do they talk to when making these changes....

Re: Blue: Rogue Update Pt. 2

    Basically we lose:
    * 3/3 Vile poisons
    * 1 rutlessness

    and gain
    * 5/5 relentless strikes.

4 talent points out of the window and into the void.

We can all agree that relentless strikes is very powerful, but changing it to another tree AND making it a 5/5 talent is just unnecessary.

The trees are very unfinished though, there's no way the trees can go live like this.
I'd even prefer them to stay the way they are on wowhead right now over this crap. http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=f

What really was hard nerf from assasination was losing murder. But gotta do some paper work with serrated blades, at least it beats lethality. Tho murder gone you might end up bit under in dmg what you previously were ^^

Re: Blue: Rogue Update Pt. 2

It seems that Blizzard forgets our survivability in the golden age of hybrid classes with wtf "LOOK AT ME I CAN HAZ HEAL AND DPS §"

Moreover, are combat rogues becoming RNGboys as mace warrior with that throwing specialisation up ? That could be fun !

Re: Blue: Rogue Update Pt. 2

Don't take this one too seriously, i've just moved some stuff around and changed a few talents (not done yet):
    http://www.war-tools.com/t57743.html

The basic idea would be to merge swords and maces into 1 talent, like they've done with daggers and fists.
I'd guess it would be called: Heavy weaponry combat.

Note: i've bloated the trees insanely, this is done on purpose. To give you some "ideas". And, hopefully blizzard as well. I've tried to be realistic on the talents though.

Re: Blue: Rogue Update Pt. 2

I'm liking the changes. What needs to be done now:

    Relentless Strikes
Make it a 3 point talent instead of 5.

    Blood Spatter
Move from Assassination tier 9 to tier 2.

    Blood Hunt
Finishing move that breaks all movement impairing effects and make you sprint for 1 second pr. combo point. 25 energy cost.

Re: Blue: Rogue Update Pt. 2

shadowdance is pretty awesome though, kidney shot and cheap shot don't share the same DR right? might almost be the return of the 100-0 stunlock on a soft target. think about it.

open with CS. work up to kidney shot. when KS lands, hit shadow dance. ambush, energy ticks (some might garrote here, but this way is safer, we are going to want an imp gouge later. so let you energy restore instead) ambush again. energy restore, KS is wearing off. CS the target. by now even with letting ticks slide for energy we are pretty low, so do normal white damage here. note we are up to 5 combo points at least. when CS wears off again, move around to the front, gouge. wait for kidney shot to come off cooldown. KS. build up a few combo points then vanish. reopen with CS. go through your opener, KS is still on cooldown, so this is the first time your opponent can move. theoretically you could blind here, but you probably have already used it after one stun or another was trinketed and you needed to get back into stealth. wont really matter though, at this point, short of a MASSIVE gear imbalance your opponent is already dead or so close to hit as to make the point acedemic, and your next kidney shot should be coming off cooldown soon

Re: Blue: Rogue Update Pt. 2

Anyone else hate the Shadow Dance changes -.-? That is so lame! I wanted to be able to enter stealth a bunch of times >.>....granted it's basically a buff....but without eye candy >.>. I was REALLY looking forward to Shadow Dance, but I guess having epic fun with Subtly is out of the question.

And also this Shadowstep nerf better not make it into live, cause you know how impossible it will be to use in BGs now? You want to be useless? NP! just sit there. You want to actually hit someone? NP! just blow a 1.5min CD or 1min CD if talented. We basically have to sit there and be useless and let people easily CC us and hurt us or we can use a CD just to do something. That doesn't sound very cool, cause if I get spammed with Entangling Roots or something I just ShS to people and hopefully stun or impair them so they can't get away so easily.

I'm loving talent updates but not skill updates. I'm dreading them -.-........Blizzard, don't screw Rogues over like every Rogue update you seem to do.

    yes...
now we even have to put the stealth-skills into the "non-stealth-bars", but i am going to run out of hotkeys in wotlk even without those :S

Re: Blue: Rogue Update Pt. 2

Hmmmm played around with the new talentcalcs.

I see a great tendency for Mutilate-PvP to be teh DoT-amor ignore-build. You get deadlybrew + poisondmg increasing talents, so one weapon with Instant poison will make sense.
Then you get +20% dmg for Rupture and Garotte from Bloodsplatter and +30% Rupturedmg and AI from Serrated Blades. Poor Platies.

Dunno what I should think about the RS change. Might be better to make it a 3p talent and combine it with Imp-Evi although that'd make it to strong for a Tier1 talent but afterall PPL would skill Imp-Evi then.

    Regarding the ShS-nerf:
Well, Vanish gets its CD reduced, so think about it. ShS-Rogues will take Elusiveness resulting in 2min Vanish CD and 1min CloS CD. And then there's still Prep for another Vanish. Don't think ShS-Rogues will have to worry about rootbreakers.

Overall....like the changes. I think it'll lead to more individual but still viable Speccs.

Re: Blue: Rogue Update Pt. 2

Assassination is bloated. Too many options of all +dmg talents. Combat flow sucks, and forces you into corners for defensive abilities. Sub, well tbh i didn't f&*( with it.

Blizz will def be reworking these, so don't get heartset on a build.

Re: Blue: Rogue Update Pt. 2

As the new 31 point talent in Assasiantion is crap and belongs in the Suptree what do you think of this.

    Overkill

Reduces the energy cost of you finishing moves by 5 for every combo point on the target.

This way it works together with Seal Fate and Cut to the Chase and reduces the energy starvation that Mutilate suffers.
Don't even try. Sound reasoning and common sense are lost to a great many on these forums...

Re: Blue: Rogue Update Pt. 2

i don't really agree, assas has always had a certain amount of bursty power. the way it allows you to open with a hard burst combo fits nicely with the "assassination" theme, just as much as it does the subtlety tree

As someone who doesn't QQ nearly enough about stuff, I'm glad there's other PvE rogues out there to bring some of this stuff to the table. Personally, I don't believe Blizzard would listen to me if I did post. (I'm not in the Beta, didn't try, don't care to, I don't have the time to actually flex my class with a wedding coming up in two weeks)

Keep on pushing for better trees, and viable hybrid specs. As a Rogue who has changed from PvE to PvP 'til LK hits (guild dieded.) it's very frustrating to have to be one or two points shy of a great DPS-PvP build. I always feel like I'm 3 talent points short of the spec I want.

I can't wait to see the 51-point talents in 3.0(2?) to play around with in Arena or BGs.

I think having people like you fight for our cause is a good thing.

If you need me to join in and comment somewhere (official forums) to get some oomph behind you, consider it done.

These talents are interesting to read, and I'm jealous I can't test them out on the Beta. But as all things rogue, I fully expect to be let down when it hits Live.

    Horrible change to Relentless Strikes.
Combat builds will be spread very thin now.

One would assume blizzard is not finished with the talents yet.
