how are holy pallys supposed to heal now?

FoL is pretty nerfed now so we cant spam it anymore

I was thinking it was more of a burst healer with instant holy lights => 2.0 holy light, but it seems too situational and mana costly

    anyone have any ideas?

You spam flash of light and burn out fast like a ret paladin. Then you divine plea and burn out again. Then you pop a mana pot and burn out again. Then you go make a sandwich, cause you are done.

    hey i got an idea

how about u double (maybe even a little more!) the amount of mana needed to use flash of light but theres a talent that makes holy shock free mana for like 3 sec afterwards

so then the burst idea i was thinking about might work

Re: how are holy pallys supposed to heal now?

    I'm going wtf here.

I've done a basic mana efficiency calculation and I found out holy light is 33% more efficient than FoL....

    here's how I've done it.
assume the base mana is 4k at lvl 80. (I pick 4K for simple math and since all spells are percentage based on the base mana, and I'm just trying to find out the ratio, it doesnt matter exactly what the base mana is)

holy light max rank, 29% base mana
heals for 4888 to 5444 (avg. 5166 heal)
    1160 mana

    HP/MP: 4.453

FoL max rank, 7% base mana
    heals for 785 - 879 (avg. 832 heal)
    280 mana

    HP/MP: 2.971

Let's look at holy shock as well
Holy shock max rank, 18% base mana
    heals for 2401 - 2599 (avg. 2500 heal)
    720 mana

    HP/MP: 3.472

I think this discripancy is quite large. We aren't even factoring spell crit from talents into account...

both holy light and holy shock are reasonable, but FoL is terrible. Plz ask Blizzard to buff the healing to around 1.2k.

I'm sure it'll be ok my Fol heals for 2200 @ lvl 70 on beta. FoL = fast small heals with low mana cost compared to our bigger heal.

While Flash of Light does cost less mana and has a lower cast time than our big heal, Holy Light according to Brainy's calculations it is actually our least mana efficient heal.

How are holy pallys supposed to heal? Just like before.

Except you'll be doing more holy shocks, and hopefully more resulting (instant) holy lights.

You'll put a Beacon of Light on someone, if you're spec'd for it. Who? That's situational.
    -or-
You'll be giving additional healing over time with your Sheath of Light.

That's how they'll heal. And the smart players will (still) be great at it.
I stream many games! WoW, SC2, TF2, old SNES games and mods, and many more! Find my stream here! I also upload many of my stream VODs and many offline recordings (usually of SC2 casts) to my YouTube, found here!. Follow, subscribe, and thanks!

Are you sure you are now noting down the coefficiency of spellpower or of +heal? Since those numbers seem VERY low for it.

If anything it will be more fun.

Don't forget that FoL will still be worth it with 50% crit thanks to Sacred Shield.

Can someone tell me how long the "your next holy light is instant" thing lasts? Is it a buff you get when Holy Shock crits?

the "smart" players won't be specced into sheathe of light in the first place.

Now could you do the same with the current spells?
I already know the answer, but if you do it yourself you won't be able to dispute the facts

The fact nobody dares to reply to this says enough.

There was certainly no MD back in the days when Uther was walking around.
