Why do people complain about this? It's the same as them resetting our gold. It's basically a form a currency, just geared towards pvp.

The thing is that you will be able to grind level 80 epic gears at level 70. It is like if they were allowing the current Badge of Justice to buy level 80 raiding gears.

WRONG!

With enough gold I can power level my professions. I can create plate gear from blacksmithing with resilience, can I not? Having a major surplus of gold is going to enable people to create whatever they want to create the day they hit level 80. They will be able to buy whatever they want to create craftables if needed. They can, and will, have an enchant, gear, gem... etc, advantage.

That's how gold and honor tie in. They are both forms of currency. Honor is, however, dependant on other factors, suck as marksand arena points, inorder to be an effective means of currency.

And people will just be able to buy any random drop profession-made epic, along with all the mats it takes to make it and have...voila...AN EPIC 5-min after hitting 80!!!!!!!

In fact, as noted due to there being requirements for the PvP Epics the odds are people will have to wait for awhile whether they have the honor points or not....

So therefore, if Blizz was trying to stop instant epics they would have to reset gold...should this be their primary reason for resetting.

So then they should reset gold as well cause it gives you edge to powerlevel professions, buy those neat dalaran rings, buy transmutes or bars or what ever is on day or 2 long cooldown. You see pattern forming here.

i dont know about you but wenn you hit lvl 80 there is still a blue set that you can get without arena points + 84 resilence insignia etc etc so for those ho did save up all those honor points go for it

well if blizzard is going to coddle the pvp twitch junkies and let them earn lichking epics with TBC honor can I spend my 400 TBC badges of justice on level 80 lichking gear? wouldnt that be fair?

I have a dream its far fetched and will never happen,but what if all pvp gear was magically reduced to 0 durability the second you walk into an instance and is unrepariable until you leave.that way the pvp predators can keep making pvp completely unfun for the PvE players,and PvE players dont have to worry about people in pvp epics wipeing the raid when they keep running arround trying to find a flag to capture or a cave to hide in and press the spacebar every few seconds to keep from getting autokicked.

honor isnt gold,honor is reputation(think of it as a new faction "the deciples of twitch") ,and even though rep doesnt reset persay,no faction from a past expansion will be useful in any way besides vanity achievements in the new one,so your honor should be wiped and you start fresh,just like the PvE people have to.You should have to wait until 80 for 80 gear.

the gold reset counter arguement the pvps have bunkered up under is invalid,you cant complete a daily by pressing the spacebar in a cave,you cant farm herbs or ore by pressing your space bar in a cave,you cant gather up the primals you need to craft your gear by pressing a space bar in a cave,you cant get the nethers and vortexes you need to craft good gear by pressing your space bar in a cave,but you can concievably earn 3 pieces of epic level 80 pvp gear by you guessed it pressing your space bar in a cave at level 70.granted not all pvpers grind all there honor by pressing there space bar in a cave,but enough of you do that the reset should not be in question,it should be written in stone.sorry to beat a dead horse but the afcave trick is repulsive,and argueing that your time spent in said cave pressing said space bar should be rewarded is an outright insult to every raider.

You can buy epics at level 80 with gold and you can buy pvp gear with honor AND arena points... so the argument isn't really invalid, but also not really... supreme.

And please stop saying most PvPer are afking all day and night to get their honor.
And you can complete dailys while afking... just be in a group and afk-follow... oh and you could afk all your way through raids until sw and maybe even there.
This is a stupid agruement, just like saying every pvper afks.

Oh and since you need arenapoints you cant get your pvp gear if you fresh hit 70 anyways and after playing 1 week of arena you EASILY have the honor you need anyways so it doesn't matter ... it's just nice it wont reset

Well I think the biggest argument that those who wanted to keep honor had, that Blizz absolutely had no answer to, is the relationship between honor and gold.

Blizz wanted to reset honor and marks so as to "not give any advantage" to those who were farming honor prior to the release.

When countered with the question as to why gold isn't reset then, b/c people who have stockpiled gold obviously have an advantage, I don't think Blizz could come up with a good answer.

I think this is basically the reason to them changing their minds. They would be hypocrits or have to come up with an answer to gold.

And eveyone knows the last thing Blizz wants to do is take away the G's that people have been working for.

If I wanted too I could hit spacebar and do dailies... which give me gold, which can buy primals, which can buy ore, which can buy herbs, which can buy vortex... which can get me 3 pieces of level 80 gear by pressing spacebar at a cave. It's called "PvP Daily".

Now... I am not the type of idiot who would generalize all PvP'rs into the market of AFK-Bots... I am just trying to counter your poor way of thinking. If people really wanted to bypass the system and get themselves gear for minimal work, they can. They can also pick-up a craftable profession... receive tips for pressing a button, and buy everything on your list.

Most people, including myself, will not go all out just to save up 75,000 honor and all marks. I have around 9000 honor on each of my toons and I would be pretty dis-pleased that it would get removed just because some little tool sucking on a lollipop thinks I am gaining an advantage over him.

Every single person playing the game yesterday, today and tomorrow all have the ability and oppurtunity to farm gold/honor and bank it for WoTLK if they so wish to do so. Althou, instead, they would rather bitch, moan, rant, rave and cry like the self-righteuos ding-bats that they are.

Get over yourselves... if you want "the advantage" then why don't you work for it to. Everyone else has.

Won't work for me. I know I'll have a lot less free time soon after the Wotlk release with my new job. I can farm a bit now, and it'll be a lot harder to do it later. Some other dude posted an answer to you already. People will NOT be able to purchase EPIC pvp gear at 80, damn it. It's just some BLUE crap that is a lot worse than any 10-man or heroic epic, not to mention 25-man. But in addition, they won't be able to purchase even those rares, simply because those rares require arena points, and it is VERY probable that 1st Wotlk arena season will start significantly later than Wotlk release, so that raiders can have enough time to get first badge loot epics and make first 10- or even 25-man boss kills. Even if arena will award arena points (AP) just as soon as people reach lvl 80 and start fighting it it, it will take them at least 2-3 weeks to get enough points to purchase those blues with AP and with those honor points you hate so much atm. So by the time when pvp-ers finally get their first 3-4 lvl 80 BLUES (now that Blizz wants to increase the prices, people won't be able to buy more than like 3-4 items), many good raiders will be walking around in gear far superior than theirs. Please restrain your anger and be constructive.

I don't mind much if Blizz does reset the honor, seeing how much hate this issue generates. But if they indeed don't reset it, it's a currency that will not even work with lvl 80 pvp gear for many weeks after Wotlk launch, and when it starts working, it will not allow more than a couple of rares.

I'm not a massive PvP fan, but I thought the idea of resetting all the honor and marks was good for competition. I realize that as soon as someone hits 80 they won't have the lv80 equivalent of season 4 gear, but it does slant the competitive nature of it all. Then again, I can't help but think I'm gonna run into a lot more DK's than anything else.

I also NEVER afk in any of hundreds of BGs that I've been in with my 3 lvl 70s. I fight and do my best to help my team. I defend bases do the char's death and corpse-run asap to interrupt bases getting capped by the enemy, I help other bases under attack by monitoring HP of their defenders, I run straight to flag runners and ignore any midfield gankfests, I report incomings, I ride straight to Dun Baldar bunkers/FW towers right after AV starts (I play on both sides) to help my team by making time/reinforcement advantage. Some people truly don't care much if they lose, some people do. It's not some cheap ego-boosting, there were quite a few BGs that were won with my aid, not by me alone of course, but with my contribution. Maybe some people here afk in battlegrounds themselves so they love to post on the forums that everyone in BGs is just watching TV and spamming 2 buttons. Guess what, some people do it for fun and fight for it, but also for honor rewards after it's done.

I figured you guys missed the part I just converted into red letters when you read it the first time.

if 10% of the pvp set use the cave trick it invalidates the entire process.if you went to college and 10% of one of your classes were found to have cheated on an exam the exam would be invalidated and those who were not caught would have to take a new exam under strict proctoring.Theres your logic for ya' the afcave trick is so prevalant that they added a new way to report people for it(proctoring).the reseting of honor is esentially the reexamination.

Adding a way to report afkers is a nice thing and all, but at least on my realm pool i hardly see people afking through bg's and if there are the occasional 1-2 in av's there are allways 20 people spamming to report them.

Can you AFK and farm gold? No..

Do you use honor to pay repair bills? No..

Admittedly, it's free gear regardless of how terrible a player you are. I just want there to be a -3,000 honor point hit every time some idiot caps the wrong GY in AV. Maybe he'd learn a lesson or two then. Consider it a repair bill of failure.
