    Hybrid Leveling Priest 70-79, Lolsmite?

I personally do not like to respec and I play my priest mainly for one reason, end game raid healing. I do not PvP. Up until that point, I wanted to make a build that allows me to be a viable healer in 5man runs until 80, but at the same time does not gimp my questing and grinding capabilities... in short, a hybrid build until I hit 80. To this end I thought of the following lolsmite build until I hit 80.

    http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?prie...00000000000000

You will note that this build is missing 10 points. That is because up until this point (the point I will be at when WotLK comes out, I am fairly certain that this is how I want to place my skills. The next two points I would put into Enlightenment while the next three would go into reflective shield.

That leaves me with 5 points to spend on I have no idea what. Both rapture and spiritual healing can greatly increase my healing performance. Rapture can let me heal for longer and even grinding, gives me some mana back when my shield is hit. Spiritual healing is just the win since it makes me 10% better at healing, but gives me almost no benefits in questing and grinding.

What I like most about this build is that it seems like it would be pretty decent at both healing and DPS while at the same time, can benefit greatly from all the plus spell crit gear that is normally not as useful to a priest as other classes (The change to surge of light is very welcome since now both healing and smiting benefit from crits not to mention good old inspiration). I also like this build since I think the new WotLK end of tree talents are fairly... lackluster... while the changes to earlier parts of the discipline tree are very nice.

Any constructive comments on what you like in this build and what you would change are more than appreciated, "this build sucks you newb" comments are not.

hm, you ever played a priest ?

If you really want to lvl like this, not being able to do anything (so forget about dungeons), you should first read tthe tool tipps of the talents, you won't be a viable healer in any instance ^^

For example, why the hell didi you take 3 points in silent resolve ??, and what about inspiration, thats a raid skill and not of such great use in 5mans, renew would have been better...

If you really want to lvl as a holy priest without loosing too much of your healing abilities, try this:

you can obviously make some small adjustements, but you'll lvl fast enough with this one, and if yoou have some spirit on your healgear, you won't run oom...

It would be viable to level as a holy / shadow hybrid. Put enough points into shadow to be effective while soloing and put the rest into holy to be a decent healer in level 70-79 instances.

Something like this could work as a hybrid levelling build: http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?prie...12223100000000

I think you accidentally reposted the same build as I originally put up. I agree that renew may be better than divine inspiration for 5 mans but why remove the points from silent resolve? 20% threat reduction to my healing is always welcome. Why do you suggest I do not have to bring down my healing threat and where would you suggest I put those points?

That part is not so constructive. I have very little experience playing as anything other than a pure holy heal build. I don't want to run into the same slow grind/quest speed as I did during WoW vanilla and BC, but I still want to heal whenever I can, so I want a more hybrid approach this time.

Well seeing as meditation is pretty much mandatory I cannot see a holy/shadow build being viable for either leveling or healing instances. Leveling maybe ok with spirit tap, but healing... you'll be out of mana in no time.

    You have healing gear?

Spec shadow, then you can heal every instance fine up to 80. Same as I healed every instance up to 70, as shadow in heal gear.

This would be a slightly (very slightly) gimped shadow grinding spec that would burn through mobs with no issue and yet allow you to heal in instances with even more ease:

Remember that the reduced shadowfiend cooldown is a massive boost - use it early and often.

    Either way, have fun.
