is there still any use for weapon or armor smithing?

my DK just finished leveling up BSing, and a friend of mine was telling me i should pick up mace smithing for quote "that cool stunning nmace" i told him storm herald and its knock offs werent coming back, but that does lead to an interesting point, did they do any updates to the weapon specialties? and if so, is there somewhere one can go see the different options so i c could decide what would suit me best

weapon or armor smithing for blacksmithing, class is immaterial
