Question about Prismatic Gems

My current professions are Enchanting/JC ...

Now with JC you can craft Prismatic Gems http://www.wowhead.com/?item=42144

It states that the Gem fits any socket...but what if you have a meta gem like http://www.wowhead.com/?item=41333... which requires at least 3 blue gems...

Lets say your whole armor set has 3 sockets... 2 blue, 1 red
your using 3 http://www.wowhead.com/?item=42144... since the prismatic gems fit any socket, your socket bonus will work on your armor...

okay here is the question... will the 3 prismatic gems count for the armor sockets or will it count for the meta gem... or both... ? (probable just a stupid question)
