Rep-based items are not bad. For instance, next patch the uldar err marks (forget their name) from stormpeaks will not be soulbound. These can be turned in for Sons of Hodir rep, and therefore may be a good "make money" item for anyone, not just trade skills.
Other than that, eternals are the only other items that most people want that don't need a trade skill. WG is the best source, but you'll have to fight over them.
If you are trying to find a "farm stuff for gold" also be sure to check your local AH for "old land" items. I've seen mageweave for really cracksmoke prices (8g+ a stack) and runecloth is always a good seller for city-faction gain. A lot of the drop items to level trade skills are a solid money maker as well (old primals and whatnot).

The fish sell for loads.
But, it's a pain to farm due to the low droprate.

Pygmy sukerfish drop rate , is roughly 10% in open water, DON'T FISH IN POOLS!!!!!!!!!, very easy to get :-)
