If you were a clothie, and had tailoring and alchemy, would you drop either for jewelcrafting?

If so, which one?

tailoring - jwc only gems (prismatic) give you much higher profesion bonus than tailoring

I'd drop alchemy. The only way I'd have alchemy is with herbalism.

But I never take two crafting professions. Too much money. I always take either a crafting with an appropriate gathering skill, such as mining and blacksmithing, or I take two gathering skills.

I have a level 70 alt (soon to be leveled to 80) who is being used as a gatherer. So that should negate some of your concern here.

Yup. Tailoring is weakest out of the bunch, IMHO.
