They havent updated that for years, back at vanilla wow. Shamans had tanking talents, but now that is obsolete and got removed/replaced by something better.

God, I remember tanking wailing caverns on my shammy, earth shock had a threat component and everything!

But in seriousness, they need to update that, you'd think that new players buying the game and looking for advice on what to play should be able to at least rely on the official website.....

true + alot of ppl dont even know the way it was and will just say mean things to a shaman who thinks he should be able to tank ..

I remember in the lower instances the PuG's didnt care what they brought. I did deadmines without a healer (wasn't too effective ). And you did instances without tanks. But about a year ago me and a friend of mine rolled rogue + shaman. And I tanked some instances on my rogue. It wasn't too hard, you have to keep aggro, so do allot of dmg. And the healing in the < lvl 40 instances is a joke, so the healers could easily heal me.


But memories about vanilla wow (about a priest, it's the priest forum anyway) Inner Fire... with +AP, melee was as good as wanding
(Lore wise it's not so strange, if you think a priest descends from a Cleric.)

Yep, not only Earth Shock, but one of the weapon enhancements had a threat component, I believe it was Rockbiter (but could be wrong). If you ever get the original WoW strategy guide, or just look at it at a book store, there's a section where they argue Shamans make better tanks than Paladins. No joke! It's amazing how much stuff in there is dated, though I will have to say it's a shame Blizzard hasn't updated the site.

Pallys, Shammys, mm could all out heal me in outlands, i did not use circle of healing I was mostly a tank healer. I just switched to circle of healing in wlk and am out healing other classes sometimes for a change , shammy still beats me. Well so much for that i will now be at the bottom again. My mana regen sources suck, my mana pet dies to fast in 25 man especially. say patchwork lol on hit wonder. and the hym of prayer is a joke.. by the time i get my sip of mana from it party is dead. I get no mana unless i have a druid who can intervate, but wait i get one mana pot lol thats a joke to if you have 19000 mana . Otherwise I am usless.
I play wow with my husband who is a warrior, he talked me into being a priest because of the big heals and wanted me to play wow with him. (I love my healing priest as a mom its a perfect fit.)
But my warrior cant pull aggro against pallys or druids and is puttin the warrior on the shelf until they fix that. We just looked at a casual guild and they do not have a warrior tank anymore they are all dps. Strange...
It takes a lot of skill and time ( knowing macros ect.. ) How to move boss, to be good at tanking and all gone to hell for him. It should be equal if they can pull from him , he should be able to pull from them ect...
I like healing a smart tank.. I am goin to miss my warrior.. He just wont play him i begged him, but he so dissapointed.

So my priest will most likely get put on the shelf to. No fav tank to heal takes the spark out of the game.
The thrill to see if can out heal is gone no more challange, the cirlce of healing will be forgotten due to cool down. By the time my cooldown ends the shammy will have done all the healing .. lol All my heals take to much time to cast or will take to much mana. I cant compete its just no fun. Its not so much i rely on coh it finally gave me and edge to compete. I dont pvp only pve. I dont like pvp on this toon its to embarassing. I die and I die haha.. I can even get my bubble on in time cause my keys are only bound for healing.

I had to share my vent on The coh cool down it will highly effect a priests value in raids.

Thanks WOW we are almost extinct and now we will be a fading race.. I lost my warrior Healers and tanks work together alot...

Once upon a time, priests had tanking talents too. That's why in vanilla WoW, Inner Fire gave +attack power.
