Druid reskinning...

Just wanted to verify a rumour I heard today, is it true that Blizzard is making some changes to druid forms in the coming 3.1? Like changes the skins of the current forms? ToL, Kitty, Bear, and Boomer? Just wanted to make sure, thx. ;D

I want to be able to nonstop use Noggenfogger as a tree. My first main was a gnome mage(I hope tis explains my noggenfogger addiction.. if not.. get up to 50 days /played as a gnome without finding a way to change your appearance!)

Blizzard actually said somtn bout druid skins some months ago, they wanted cat/bear to be same detail lvl as swift flight, and Anzu mount.. but havent heard any new since

There are no plans (that I have seen yet) to include new Druid skins in 3.1, but from info at this last Blizzcon and a few other Blue Post hints this is on the ole "To Do" list.

Then again there was mention of a whole bunch of new glyphs coming out in 3.1 and they mentioned new druid form skins attained through glyphs (Red Lynx/Polar Bear). So just have to wait and see i suppose.

They specifically pulled them out cause they didn't think it fair to have to use glyph spots in order to change what your character looked like. It was mentioned in a blue awhile back... can't find the link currently=/. But I highly highly doubt they will ever bring forms thru glyphs back.

Heh.. right, thats lame. I mean, my pally is still using Glyphs to make my blessing lasts longer... its technically totally useless, its the player's choice to have something useless for a minor glyph spot.

Of course they could make it available in a different way, but since they don't, its lame.

The Glyph of [insert druid form] idea was scrapped because players complained that if they decided to go with the best glyphs available to them to maximize their effectiveness at raiding/pvp, they wouldn't be able to benefit from these cosmetic druid-form glyphs.

Though it would be nice to have glyphs available that could change what our forms look like, I'd personally rather have better quality forms than rehashed forms of other wow mobs. Glyphs would just have allowed us to look like other creatures in the game. If Blizzard does what it plans to do, we'll actually be given updated and better looking forms with greater detail.

I'd rather have that, and I'm willing to wait.

Cat form and Bear form both suck, that's 2 slots gone. How about travel form too? There goes my third.

It seems some of you guys think the glyph things were farther along than they were. I believe Tigole or Brack bought up the idea in an interview, and that was about it. Any time spent on models for this no matter how it was implemented (glyphs or something else) would have progressed regardless. I think the safe conclusion would be that the art department has been going full bore on Ulduar art, and that we'll see the new skins eventually when things settle down.

I believe I remember hearing it existed on the WOTLK beta but the removed it due to some confusion. I think with hunters being able to tame polar bears, and druids being able to shift into them. It could be easy for a PVP arena team to cause some confusion by naming the pet the same as the character. So I think they removed the glyph.

Theres a difference between using one glyph for a penguin sheep, and then several glyphs for our forms. Bear, cat, travelform, waterform (i dont really care, its not like we use it, but it serves a purpose) and then those resto or boomkins will have a form aswell. Thats 5 glyphs, with three spots to use - and to be honest, i would much rather have half mana cost on mark, free combat resses and 1 hour thorns than just another graphic.

As for your penguin comparison, your original polymorph sheep form is already good lookin'. So, obviously, either your sheep or penguin polymorph looks great anytime. As our cat, bear, aquatic, travel and moonkin form..... They are all ugly as sh**!!! It's been four years already and we haven't seen a change or so to our forms.

But oh wait! That's not the truth! We've seen a change on the cat form in a previous patch you might say. Well, changing a sh***y looking cat form for another ugliest cat form isnt really a great change for me! Take a look:

How can they come with more than a hundred new mobs in Northrend, with amazing looks, but nothing to bite on for us drood!

The fact is that they even designed new hunter's pets!!! I just can't believe this!!

It seems like alot of QQ'ing, but as for us druid that plays most of our time in a specific form(making us looks naked since we loose the sight of our gears), I definitively think that we do deserve some great lookin' forms!!!

4 years of WoW with the same ugly tauren cat form + 4 years of player's complain about the form = Epic fail ftw
