    Help me improve my dps

I didnt get any responses in the other topic, so I'm afraid I got overlooked :P I'll post here aswell, as it seems I really need some feedback.

I'm hitting around 2400-2500 dps on the heroic target dummy solo, using shadowfiend till I'm oom. I'm really interested in a little help on how to raise this. My gear isnt that bad, but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
For a starters, my gear: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sh...est&n=Pewpants

    Screenshot of recount details:

My priority is to keep up DP and VT, using MB ever cooldown, and else using MF. Casting VT or DP if the CD on my MB is lesser than 1.5 sec. I'm aware that I'm not at 11% hit, but that's assuming there's always an elefant in my group, which there kinda is. Do I need to stack up more haste to get better rotations? I need more spellpower, I know that, and I got dying curse in the bags, but nothing to replace my other hit spots. And kinda stupid to run around with 14% hit.
Any help apreatiated. How can I can do better?

    Kind regards.

Your haste shouldn't be any problems, I have about the same and nothing's wrong with my rotation. Though your dps on a target dummy can be a little misleading, I'd be great if you could post some statistics from a normal patchwerk kill ect (I know, patchy's dps meter shouldn't really be trusted but it's a good mark, specially with all the raid buffs).

Also, try to prioritize spell power first, then crit, then haste. That second diagram, is that from your mind flay hits?

    Good luck :3

I would say so; it's highlighted, so it would show up in the bottom. also, it says 'mind flay: count 103' and in the bottom, 88 hits 15 crits. 88+15=103. 8)

Re: Help me improve my dps

So something helpful would be the total amount of time you spent attacking the target. That way you can see exactly how much uptime you had on vt and dp....also, if you arent, you should be applying(or re-applying : depending on your chosen opening rotation) SW:P after you have 5 stacks of shadow weaving...also I assume you have all the necessary glyphs...if you dont then that would also lower your dps. You are getting a static 98 sp from the egg, but the avg sp gained from the dying curse is at the very least equivalent to that-so if you are just looking to boost your training dummy dps the dying curse will aid you in that endeavor(especially if you go oom quickly.)

Hrmm, keep in mind that 300 haste is the "soft cap" that allows us to get 2 full mindflays into our mb cd's. That is easily obtained in a raid since you get 5% from wrath of air and an additional 3% from ret pally judgements. But on a dummy you are going to be gimped with less than 300(nothing you can do about that).

Fill the 1.5 second gaps that arise in your "rotation"(usually right before a mb) with sw, as long as all your other dots are up. Follow the priority VT>DP>MB>SW:P(which gets refreshed)>MF(if more than 1 tick)>SW....a big argument up right now is whether you should use SW in that 1.5 second gap...and I suppose it's really up to you- just know that SW will always do more dmg than 1 tick of MF(and you dont really have the haste to clip at 2 ticks while still getting to the MB w/o leaving it off of cd for too long.)

Don't clip VT. And to go along with that..Don't clip VT.

Get a latency meter...I really like quartz...it shows you when you should start casting your next spell so you take full advantage of the game's spell que...

MF a target for a while and get used to when it ticks...as great as it would be if it ticked at the beginning middle and end...it doesn't. So get used to the fact that for the first gcd you only get 1 tick(unless you have a good amount of haste.) This is another spell that you want to be careful not to clip...that last tick can be tricky :P.

Be hit capped...if you miss a dp you are fucked.

If you are fighting a boss and use a wild magic pot...only recast sw:P if there is a significant amount of time left in the fight...otherwise that GCD would be better filled with a sw or any other spell.

BEG for focus magic and pi .

For overall better dps results in the long run use inner focus on your MB...and use it on DP if you are having mana issues. And on mind sear for some serious trash fun.

Key bind the spells you use most...clickers can be successful, but binding allows for more attention to be payed to your surroundings and generally leads to being able to que spells up faster.

    Enchant your shoulders.

And for god's sake get a new weapon :P.

    That's all I got.

Thank you, this was exactly the answer I was looking for. I'll try it out when I get home, maybe even with more resultsets for you.
Working on a better weapon, sadly I dont have much luck now a days

Why do you think I chose them? The character is not that old, less than 2 days played on 80, so this is the reason I dont have them leveled yet.

Re: Help me improve my dps

Tried it out yesterday aswell, and with some upgrades of my gear, I improved the dps to be around 2800, spiking to 2900. So I guess I'm doing better, but I have way to much hit now using Dying Curse instead of egg (though it's of course the better choice). This means I'll have to upgrade stuff like my headpiece and belt/neck?

Just offhand, from the numbers you provided you're missing several VTs and DPs. Refreshing those promptly will always always always improve your DPS dramatically.
