Casino Spam .... the new trend?

Have you been bombarded with /yells with "join XXXXX's casino! roll 1 or 100 and triple your money, roll 80+ double your money!"

my ignore list and spam notification has gone through the roof..

Since when have these been popular? or even legal on (based on TOS)?
    It's just a game.

It's very annoying I just noticed it over this past weekend. Cluttering up chat channels with the spam...but people eat it up. WTB bigger ignore lists.

This was huge on FFXI for a long time until the devs started canceling accounts. I'm not sure if it's against the Terms of Service, but it would suprise me if it wasn't.

I've seen this a lot on Blackwing Lair lately. It's always been against the ToS. It could be a new scam the gold farmers are using.

We've had these pop up alot over the past few weeks. I remember Pre-BC these got banned, but now somehow the GM says they're okay. I was thinking of making a post on the official forums when I saw this one, ironic.

The casino in and of itself is not against ToS...at least according to GM's which have been known to be incorrect from time to time...but the spam advertising of them IS against ToS. You can try reporting them which may lead to a ban. This was mentioned on WoW Insider today, and various GM's have said that while the casinos/gambling in and of themselves are not against ToS, you are more than welcome to report those spamming either in trade or in whispers just as you would a gold seller.

Again, the GM's word is by no means final and Blizzard may deem the casinos against ToS...but at this point that portion of the issue isn't perfectly clear unless I've missed something very recently.

might be gold farmer... a member from our guild gquit, then 10 minutes later was spamming org with casino spam... weird...

there is nothing in the EULA or TOS that directly deem using the /roll function as a casino/gambling function a bad thing... but there is something in there saying unauthorized use of ingame mechanics to scam people is against TOS.... obviously it comes with the " at blizzard descretion"
    It's just a game.

one of the people running a casino told me that the TOS changed in the last patch allowing this to be 'legal'

And pretty soon we'll see players getting ganked at every corner because they're in debt with the WoW gold maffia...

You do realize you can report them and get them banned for this, right?

Just do it, and you'll see less and less of them till they disappear.

lol @ the people saying "just report them!"

The only thing you can report them for is spam...but seriously. Who cares about spam in chat? Anybody that is smart has a separate window for trade chat.

As mentioned earlier, it isn't the "casino/gambling" that is against ToS, it is the spamming. Reporting spammers rarely gets anyone anywhere anyway, but at least you don't have to see them for the next few days before their account is deleted if they are lvl 1's.

you join the raid, you give raid leader gold.. you /roll ... if you get a 1 or 100 you get 3 times your money, if you roll over 80 you double your money.. otherwise you don't get anything back..

    It's just a game.

if u wanna beat them...first ask whats the highest bet u can put...and use martingale method...if they are smart enough, they will limit the starting bet and the max bet (like all casinos out there) and if they do, dont think about it , its expected value its very low and on the long run u cant beat them.
