Over time, I added some new toys, like Dominos to get more control of my (far too many) button bars. I installed Omen and Recount, because, well, I was told to. Pally Power was the same deal, my guild said I needed it, so I installed it. All those things just got kind of crammed onto the screen and made a usable UI, it just wasn't pretty.

I REALLY wanted to try kgpanels, but my first attempt at using it was a massive failure. I just couldn't figure out how to set it up, so I gave up. After finally finding a tutorial on configuring kgpanels, I decided I was going to make myself figure it out. Grid is front and center, always. Over time I've learned to be more situationally aware and not focus solely on those raid frames, but keeping Grid just below my toon's feet allows me to see what I'm standing in and respond quickly if it happens to be fire. It also means I've got my eyes in the center of the screen so if I need to see anything else, my eyes don't have to move too far.

This screenshot is the final product, when I'm not grouped. I could have it hide Pally Power and my single lonely Grid frame, but I'm so used to using them that when I go to buff myself or heal myself while doing dailies, I'm lost without them.

The final screenshot is in a 25 man raid.

There are a few items that aren't shown in that shot, so I'll list off all of the addons I use and their purpose:
kgpanels - borders around buttons, map, chat, etc
Grid - raid frames
SexyMap - makes the minimap just a bit less ugly
ButtonFacade - makes your buttons a little prettier
clcbpt - I have this show up just to the left of my Grid frames and have it's warnings pop up just above Grid (basically on my toon's feet) This addon is specifically to track Holy Pally timers (Beacon of Light, Sacred Shield, Judgements of the Pure, and the SS HoT)
DBM - boss mod
Chatter - chat box mod
Skada - replaced omen and recount with Skada and now my Threat meter shows up during the fight and damage/healing meter shows up when the fight is over
Pally Power - helps manage buffs for multiple pallies in a raid
Satrina Buff Frames - gets my buffs/debuffs under control allowing me to place them exactly where I want
TipTac - allowed me to move the mouseover info pane to where I want it and make it look good
Xperl - Unit frame addon that let me position my personal frame, target, targets target, focus, and focus target to be exactly where I want them while making them look nice at the same time. In the screenshot, you can see that I'm targetting myself and that my target's target is shown just to the right of my target. The focus and it's target are positioned just to the right of that.

Wow, that ended up being a longer list than I expected. But having each of these gives me all the information I need during a raid while allowing me to be pleased with the overall feel of my UI whenever I sit back and just enjoy the sights of the game.
First off, I love your UI. But do you mind explaining a bit about kgPanels and how to use them? I downloaded it and can't seem to find any slash commands or anything. Does the addon that I want to use have to be compatible with it or something?

- Thanks in advance

Re: [Healers] Post your UI Part 2

For what it's worth, this is the UI I've come up with most recently (though no bets on how long I'll keep it, I change my UI around every so often).

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I didn't take this screenshot for the purposes of this thread, but it's the best one I have and I don't have time atm to get a better one.
Addons I'm using that are relevant to the UI:
Fubar - Across top
SexyMap - Minimap replacement
Satrina Buff Frames- Buffs are obviously visible by minimap, debuffs show to the left of my unit frame (you can see Chill of the Throne)
Shadowed Unit Frames - Unit Frame replacement, Personal and Target frames are visible; I rarely use focus, but it would appear above and to the left of my frame
Prat - Chat addon
Omen/Recount - Standard threat/damage meters
Dominos - Action bar addon
Quartz - Casting bar addon, shows up between my unit frame and my target unit frame

Sunn Viewport- This is what generates the artwork across the top and bottom of the screen. The display area has been slightly viewported, so that nothing is rendered behind the bar across the top. I chose not to do the same on the bottom, because I usually am zoomed out a bit more than this screenshot shows, and there's never anything I need to see on that part of the screen... and I find I like the angle and visibility I get with only the top viewported.

Vuhdo - This is my healing addon of choice (though healbot or grid would work just as well here). My healing frames are easily visible below my unit frame; the frame far to the right is for pets, the two frames to the left are the standard raid groups. If this were a 25 man raid, the other three groups would fill in the gap.

Addons that are not visibile, but whose use should be relatively obvious:
Deus Vox Encounters - My boss mod of choice. Proximity window appears just above my cast bar, between my unit frame and my target's unit frame
CLCBPT - Beacon of Light/Sacred Shield/Flash of Light HoT/JotP tracker for holy pallys. The timer bars for this stack up just above my unit frame.
Power Auras - Graphical notifications of important buffs and debuffs, which appear around my character. Used for Divine Plea + Light's Grace.

I know there are a few things not visible, but it should be pretty easy to get the basic idea of what's going on at a glance anyways. I have to go do dinner now; if anyone has any questions, I'll check back later. If not, feel free to flame/insult my UI instead, whatever makes you happy :-P

5-man:

25-man:

Utilizing LUI V3 with a few replacements. Xperl raid frames instead of Grid, Quartz instead of LUI cast bars, and DocUI Nameplates instead of caelNamePlates. Also tweaked settings on Forte and minimap a bit. Added a couple others, such as Prat, DBM, and AVR.

Very clean, lightwieght, and efficient UI I'd recommend for any class.

Thank you

PS: You should update the page: "Final update because apperently there was a high demand for it. Don't expect a update for catalysm though."

Re: [Healers] Post your UI Part 2

One thing amazes me really much, it's the concept you have in the UI, it's clean. It's good looking and it's awesome in general.

But also another thing, I liked the version before that one, you know with the little mana bar over the 3d picture or w/e it was.

And also that font just hurts my eyes, altho it's your UI so it's your preference I guess But just a tip. another font and I would be using that one instead ^^

EDIT: Mind making it 1680x1050 ?

Re: Post Your UI

Here is my UI on a combat dummy:

My goal is to remove everything from the UI that I don't really want to know. The only useless thing (to me) remaining is the lower action bar, but I feel it's just too clunky to have to show/hide the actionbar everytime I want to change something. In addition I do not want anything in my viewport unless I really need to know about it. The closer an addon gets to the center of my screen, the more important should the information be.

Re: Post Your UI

Posted my UI a few weeks ago, got some "negative" feedback lol. Got me thinking I could do so much more, with less space taken up, I downloaded a package so i'm not sure I should post it here, but I have changed a lot, mainly the only things i'm using from the package are the KG frames.
Package can be found here FinalfloUI

Edit 1:The description was for my guild forums, I had posted some changes I made to it before the final look. The package did not contain Vuhdo, it was using Grid for raid frames.

Edit 2: Here is a video of it in action.
Edit 3: Yes I was catching quite a bit of lag, stopped recording after that, first few attempts looked better but I coded the wrong video and was too lazy to redo it lol.

Mine in a raid group...I usually heal a lot, so that's why my raid frames are right there to the left. I might experiment with them being in the center later on.
