    Prot and holy 3.1 Talents and glyphs

    I didnt see any posts on the front page( i have viewed some others a few days ago) so i was just wondering what specs you guys are going be doing when the patch hits and why.

    Well for your PVE Prot you should take the 5 points points in Divinity since the new bosses will be hitting alot harder and more often. As a tank your healers will love you for it. Here is what I owuld use http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?pala...0&version=9767

    And I'm sure people will reply with some comments so take it with a grain of salt and use what works for your style of play.

    I did miss the HotR. My bad. And yes you would most definitely put a point in there.

    Yes, heals done to you with your aura + divinity will be for 11% more. The raid will only have 6% increase healing. If for some reason you are healing yourself, I'm fairly certain it will be for 16% more through the two talents.

    That spec is horrible imo. Basically go with what the others said, though I personally wont be taking divinity unless I end up needing it. My healers are usually very good, so I dont really see this happening, but in the meantime, it allows me to go further into the ret tree for more threat talents.

    I want to see how badly i need the spiritual attunement talent, so I may drop down to 1 pt as so many other have been doing. Even though others bring the same debuff as JotJ, i still like to have it.

    This leaves 1pt.

    I can put 1pt in Spiritual Atunment if need be,

    or I more point in a damage ability. Any thoughts whats better?

    Otherwise thoughts?

    3pts in crusade, 2pts in Sanctity of Battle, or vise versa

    Qualifications

    1) My guild does run 2 ret paladins that do raid. And the holy pally has heart of crusader
    2) We have 2 DKs, 1 is Frost/unholy with Imp Icy Talons. (So i will not be getting judgements of the just)
    3) I am my guilds main tank.

    Thats fine if your always offtanking,

    but if your going to most usually be the boss tank, or the tank needed for highest threat, etc. I would drop the divine sacrifice/divine guardian.

    Because I am pretty sure they dont stack with a Holy Paladin.

    Dunno, looks okay...

    Glyph of Divine Plea to give us an extra 3% mitigation is nice...

    I was thinking maybe dropping one point that I have in pursuit of justice and putting it into Spiritual Attun.
    to give it 2 points instead of just 1.

    Long time reader... First time Poster
    Anyway, I have two different Prot specs I'll be using for Ulduar. One will be for MTing/Max Survivability and the other will be for AoE tanking and Tps.

    The MT Spec, I always have a Ret paladin who shows up to every raid so no Heart of the Crusader.. and I'm speccing into Divine Sacrifice and Divine Gaurdian for the Imp SS because I dont usually have a Holy Paladin in my Achievement Group for 10 mans and for 25 mans we dont always have one on... which might change in Ulduar. I dont know how Often I'll use the Divine Sacrifice unless I'm Tanking an Add on Iron Council early in 3.1 and it dies before another Tank's Add. For Obvious reasons I wont use it when I'm MTing. Glyph of AS for a Threat lead on a Pull or for some reason I'm not in melee range of the Boss, and PoJ for Mobility when MTing if Needed.

    The Tps Spec, Same reasons for not taking Heart of the Crusader and only one Point in SA for now because BoS means no Mana Issues when AoE Tanking and the Infinite Divine Plea should also mean no Mana problems. No JotJ because I'm probably tanking more than 3 Mobs and there either might be a War thunderclapping or a DK doing Icy Touch + Pestilence. Conviction, Sancity of Battle, and Crusade are nice Threat talents and I'm not Sacrificing huge Mitigation for them when you think about how Pre 3.1 Specs were where we couldnt Spec into them with out Sacrificing those Mitigation Talents.

    It's just a personal preference of mine to take PoJ. 2 more crit isn't dire at this point for more threat, just dps.

    I did a little number crunching and decided not to go with Divine Sacrifice and Divine Gaurdian. The only reason I would take those talents is because of the increased Sacred Shield. After looking at it's benefit, our Holy Paladin also puts SS on me during battle and since his absorbs more damage than mine with the buffs.
