    DW Specialization - Clarification Please?

Dual Wield Specialization talent in Shaman's Enhancement talent tree gives additional 6% Chance to Hit while Dual Wielding weapons.
Since Chance to Hit/Hit Rating now affects both Spells and Melee/Ranged attacks, this talent is supposed to affect BOTH our Melee and our spells. However, this is not the case...

Other classes have similar talents that, if that class needs it, grant BOTH Spell and Melee chance to hit.

I do not understand why this Enhancement Shaman talent does not affect Spell Hit like all the others?
If it is a bug, it should be corrected ASAP since its a simple fix.
If it would become too powerful then it should be reduced to 1/3/5% or 2/4% additional Chance to Hit but affect BOTH spells and melee.

In its current form it is one of the most confusing and incorrect talents, not to mention it completely misses the point since Enha Shamans need both Spells and Melee attacks to land properly.
It would be great if someone with a US account could post about this on US forums, so we can get a Blue to comment on this or at least explain why is DW Specialization talent like this?

Yes, but 2nd line in edited quote explains it.

The talent does not affect spell hit. You will need to gem for 14% hit. Not a bug, just the way blizz made it.

This WAS posted when patch 3.1 was in Beta, after we successfully got Blizzard to put Expertise rather than Agility on Unleashed Rage, we though ok we're on a roll how about changing Dual Wield Specialisation to 1/2/3% melee & spell hit. We got nothing positive back. It is on the table but you are fooling yourself if you think its going to be addressed before patch 3.2. They have no reason to tweak talent trees for something, that arguably isn't broken, before then. Just because people are clueless and can misunderstand it doesn't mean it's broken.

I am aware that it doesnt affect Spell Hit and that is the problem - it should be affecting Spell Hit as well as Melee.
If it would be too powerful then let it be 2/4% or 1/3/5% but affect BOTH spell and melee, so it will be like all other similar talents and it will help both spell and melee side of the Enha shamans.
This way it just misses the point....... its like it was made for warriors who have no spells, and not for Enha shamans who have a ton of spells to cast in every fight.

Intended or not, this talent should be changed. Can someone with a WoW US account please post on the US shaman forums so we may get a response on it and perhaps even a fix?

Yeah it's a confusing talent for me too.. Now I took it because the shaman forum said it was valuable :P

Since your stacking hit rating to cap spell hit and will cap melee hit in the process is it even worth taking?

You will not cap melee hit. You will only cap specials + spell in the process. The 6% hit for all your white damage will also account for MSW stacks.

Melee hit cap atm is something like 700 and some odd, for 26%. So in current gear you won't be able to.

Just because another class has something that affects all of their spells does not mean that it is something that Enhance Shamans should automatically get. The reason that it is still a good talent even after you are above the spell hit cap, is that it affects white damage, which like Barrar said, will help build your MSW stacks. And also, like Altiris said, the DW hit cap is 27%, so even with the 6% from talents, and the 11% or so that you get from being spell hit capped (Hit rating builds Spell hit faster than Melee hit btw...) still means that you will be missing 9-10% of your white hits.

If they did change it to 3% to Melee and Spell hit, we would effectively be losing out on that 6% hit rating to Melee altogether... Simply because that would lower our Spell hit cap to 11% so people wouldn't be gearing for that extra hit just for white damage... Now, it would slightly help in itemization as we wouldn't need as much hit, but overall I don't think it would make that much of a difference. Sure we would be able to stack more of other stats, but we would be losing out on the 6% from Melee hit... Either way, I don't think it is that big of a deal to worry about changing it. The 9 Expertise was amazing, and we should be happy that we got that, IMO.

I <3 the new Unleashed Rage. Finally able to use some freakin AP gems. I would prefer for DW Specialzation to stay as is. Reaching the spell hit cap will be cake with Uld gear.

I totally agree. It was nice to drop EXP gems.
