    3.1.3 - paladin nerfs

    Paladins


    * Eye For An Eye: This talent now deals 5/10% [down from 10%/20%] of the critical strike damage taken by the paladin back at the attacker.
    * Hand of Freedom: The base duration of this buff has been reduced from 10 seconds to 6 seconds.

    Freedom's annoying. I'd like to see GC reasoning behind it, at least at the moment, how else do ret palas stay on their target? I could of expected this in the re-vamp if we got some form of charge/gap closer. But now...?

    And eye for an eye nerf was expected to be honest, its mainly to stop the damage that rogues/ferals take when attacking us, but i suppose it has massive effects on high crit burst classes, question is though...is it worth taking still?

    freedom is frankly the only thing that allows me

    - to stop a dk to kite me away when we are both on low hp
    - prevent combinations of frost trap +/ rogue poisons +/ nova ..etc

    eye4eye + ret aura is the only thing that stops us from getting owned hard by a rogue stun lock when u have no cds.
    - not to mention nasty range crits

    Yeah exactly, and it only lasts 10 seconds now with a 25 seconds cd (?)...thats terrible. It can be dispelled, spell stolen or frankly, you still couldn't catch up to your target in the amount of time.

    Every other melee class has a way of getting to their target except us, and now the only way we had a chance of getting to our target has been nerfed?

    Warrior - Charge, intercept, intervene (if used correctly)
    Druid - 2x feral charges
    Rogues - ...yeah really, maybe not a direct gap closer but need i say more?
    Dk - Yeah...DG funfun, esp DG - COI - Oh yay, how do i stop that healer drinking now >.<

    Oh yeah, shamans, well at least they have 2xsnares and something similar to freedom now...

    Edit: Looking at it, 10 seconds duration is terrible, esp with a 25 second CD. This really has just become a "get out of stun" ability on a 25 second cd....

    Even with talent points in Guardian's Favor - it was barely enough before - .. now it's just going to be outright ridiculous, - gonna spend all my mana hammering cleanse whilst <enemy> just keeps reapplying and keeps dps'ing

    Pretty much all paladin changes are stupid..
    Mainly because we got that stupid bubble to be balanced around..
    I say remove bubble so we can finally be balanced properly.

    just give us the tools we need period. enough of this bullshit of nerf here, nerf there
    - every single patch now is blizzard shaving the usefullness of a much-needed ability - to compete properly

    its like a warrior without charge and without /equip shield /cast shieldwall /cast block /cast spellreflect

    bubble? with almost every top team has either a warrior or a priest now..

    What would be nice would be Heroic Leap - for pallies .... i mean after all - didnt that Paladin use it vs Arthas in the Deathknight quest?

    I don't care about the Eye for an Eye change but seriously, why did they have to nerf Hand of Freedom? Did Blizzard suddenly forget we have no other way to reach out target other than running towards them and that hand of freedom has a long cool down? It can even be dispelled, spellstealed and purged. Ah well, this fits in nicely with every other patch so far, a nerf per a patch. Seriously lame move. Was Hand of Freedom really a problem? Why are we only hearing about this now and whats the reasoning behind the nerf? Losing 4 seconds is pretty big change.

    Doubt it has anything to do with bubble. Most the QQing is because of burst damage. Even if it was because of Bubble, they could always give more classes attacks that could bypass the immunity. Then again, good players generally aren't worried about bubble in pvp..

    Considering as hand of freedom still exists it's just the duration, and considering that you can dispel every other slow pretty much.
    It's not that big of a deal.

    Gap closers arent needed for paladins.
    Possibly a daze talent in ret though I would argue that the ability to slow your opponent is needed.

    Whenever i'm on my paladin though considering that absolutly silly amount of burst damage you do, having a gap closer would just make things even more rediculous than they already are.

    And for anyone who says "We need burst damage because we cant interrupt or silence our target" really doesn't know how to play a Paladin effectivly.

    Blizzard *thinks* that casters aren't doing well in arena because they are unable to keep melee off them for as long as they once could.

    If you notice, every melee, except feral and shamans, got nerfs to how they stick on their target. Warriors 5 seconds more on charge CD, paladins freedom, dks COI spam removed.

    That said, both warriors and dks have other ways of getting to the target :S, and paladins are just left with a 10 second window to get onto their target every 25 seconds.

    Eye for an Eye aint that great, even in PvP.
    Hand of Freedom..meh 4 seconds off aint too too bad I suppose.
