Dispersion bugged?

I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced the damage reduction of dispersion not working in BGs? I just got hit by a paladin in a BG for a sum of 19k until death while dispersion was active(3 ticks worth of mana back). The paladin couldn't possibly do 190 k in less than 4 seconds right?

Also if a ranged spell leaves the caster's hands and you pop dispersion while it's travelling to you, the dispersion effect won't work because it wasn't active when the spell resolved and left the caster's hand.

But yeah, AV talent bypasses damage reduction effects.
