Skada Vs REcount

I thought dps meters were all about electronic penis enlargement.

...Ok, I use Recount. But only to get informative hints like, who didn't dispel on Yogg and such. I don't actually care about my own dps.

In addition to all these features you can also set it to show threat in combat, eliminating the need for Omen. Unless you like having multiple windows/ graphs etc open on screen.

To the guy that was talking about you dont need to worry unless you're using a PoS with only .5 or 1 gig of RAM....yeah that'd be me >_>. Supposed to have 2 gigs now...but its a long story I wont be boring you with. Anywho this Skada sounds interesting I'll take a look on curse about it and try it in tonight's raid. Maybe its just because I dont know how to use recount effectively, but I've always wished I could see more than the top 3 damage done to, things by certain people if I'm raid leader, like on hard mode deconstructor where some people just have so much damage done to deconstructor/the heart/any mechanicals in the heart phase I cant tell if they were dpsing the life sparks. Just my 2 cents so I hope this skada can do that.

I switched from recount to skada not to long ago and i must say i like skada a lot more.
Recount i had to reset every boss fight because it would start using to much memory and slowing down my game.
Also as a disc priest i like the absorbed menu as i can shove it in other healers faces when they link the healing meters.

Also dps'ers who say they dont care about there dps are realy bad. On my DK i always have dps meters running. not to brag and post when i am on top but to make sure i am not on the bodem.
If i am doing a lot less then the other equal geared DK's then i am doing it wrong and need to improve myself.
Every dpser who is serious about his/her job should keep track of his or her damage in a raid/instance.
just like i expect healers to keep track of people's health and use a addon like grid or healbot or whatever for that and just like i expect a tank to keep track of his treath.
most people dont use damagemeters for there eepeen but to keep track if they are still doing a good job.

if anyone want to get off on my spelling errors then knock yourself out i am sitting behind a diffrent computer and dont have my spellchecker here. i suggest you suck it up.

I running Skada and Recount now (solo play, will check later on raid) coz I wanna compare both and I must say I like Skada but this addon show me much more DPS than Recount (DMG is the same, 80 lvl mob in Icecrown, Skada 16777 DMG, 2796 DPS, Recount 16777 DMG, 1710 DPS). With one say truth?? How I can check this???

Maybe they both wrong? best way to check them - Raid.
In Raid Skada shows me lower DPS then Recount

I've used both and like both, but i stick to recount. The pie charts are just easier for me to look at. The ability for skada to do threat is also nice, but I have omen set up to allow me to see my threat level at a quick glance and I don't believe skada is capable of doing it the same. I have my tank bar colored to match my ui and my bar bright red, while all others are transparent.

Sorry Somnio but you need to be corrected here for your poor attitude. Skada allows you to save only boss fights, so you can get a WWS type recap of the night through your damage meter whereas recount will only ever give you the previous 5 fights. Skada also monitors debuff uptimes which is critical in maintaining a proper raid and finding out who is slacking. In every way I can imagine the addons are interchangeable, with skada having a few more options.

And what the hell is Skada? never heard of it. Doesn't sound that good if it shows different/lower numbers then Recount.

One possibility (from my experience) is because I kept getting D/C during 25man boss fights with Recount running, and it stopped and never happened again when I turned it off. Guessing it processes a lot of data that my interwebz couldn't handle.
