if you would ask me about 10 years ago, I would say play station.
but now, I must say nintendo is way better than everything else, because I have a son and nintendo is the only plattform where you can buy games for young and old.
I guess someone is gettin' a wii for christmas :|

No it's not, maybe in the film industry, but for other things like data storage etc >> HDDVD.
Also, the technology behind hddvd is much better, the hardware is cheaper, discs are cheaper to make etc.

Playstation 1 - Final fantasy 7-8-9, Metal Gear solid, Gran Turismo, Crash bandicoot... the best games sagas appeared on PSX...

Metal gear was originally an msx franchise, then nes and then playstation. Same with final fantasy, also came from nintendo, then playstation (and now xbox360 :P)
But yeah i agree the ps1 had loads of great game series.

Not gonna turn this into a hddvd vs blue-ray topic, but theres still hardware coming out for hddvd, also the promotion group dissolving had other reasons.

Apart from that it's usually not the best one of 2 that sets standards, look for example betamax vs vhs, vhs won while betamax was much better, minidisc vs tape/cd, minidisc was much better but got forgotten, etc.

Zelda OoT alone, is enough to take down anything else. Xbox 360 and all of it's junk is a copy of Sony and Nintendo in my honest opinion. I usually will let people have their opinion.... but I reallllyyyyy don't like yours. I was brought up with the N64, and to this day, more than 10 years later, I play the N64 more than any of my other consoles, and I don't care to buy any consoles I don't have. I have a NES, N64, Gamecube, PS2, and that's all I need. I don't want the PS3, Wii, or Xbox 360, I've played them all, I've seen them all, they aren't worth it.

SNES all the way. I love the simplicity and fun of the games. They were challenging but not hard to understand. I could spend hours dieing OVER AND OVER and I loved it. The system was also packed with amazing games (my favorite being Secret of Mana) that never got old no matter how many times you played them.

I disagree with you on this one, yes the next-gen console games have made great steps in terms of graphics, AI etc. But gameplay? no....
Back in the day of atarri2600/commodore64, and the days of snes/megadrive/ps1/ps2 etc. I spend a LOT more time with 1 game then now, just because the gameplay was that much better back then.
Most of nowadays games are way too focused on having good graphics and ai, and the gameplay element is often a bit "forgotten".

The game i played longest so far on my xbox360, is mass effect, with just under 100 hours. If i compare that to some games i played back in the days it absolutely pales.

all you get now are mass produced pumped out 'shineys' which appeal to the DNA you share with magpies and anything that is actually worth playing is worth playing more on a PC.

Zelda:OoT nostalgia? Doesn't compete with the game play of current games? lawl OoT set the standards of gameplay and for story? It was and is the mother fucking king, only FF7 comes close to it. As for graphics, only a fool would make a comparison of graphics between a modern system and an olden system, it would be foolish to make that a deciding factor over different era consoles.
Zelda may have been "meh" to you, but for a large portion of the gaming community, it was a great game and is regarded as one of the best series (if not the best? i have not checked recently) of all times. Have a look on IGN and such, go see how Zelda fairs against your Fable'd 360. (Oh, the 360 has alot of good qualities, easy my favourite current generation console, Fable is one of the greatest games ever released, my third favourite after zot and ff7, epic fucking game).

Lol, Halo is by far the best Shoter game on console, not talking multiplayer talking about the Epic story. When i play it i feel epic. It containes speed, brutal battle and u are the hero that pwns every1 but still it is hard. THe music and the area is by far the best ever created. This i why i play Halo. It is the best shooter ever made.

Xbox 360, Xbox, PS2, PS3 are all great consoles. Still SNES and N64 is very good.

I voted Xbox 360 due to halo and GH games.

The story in OoT is one of the best IMO.

I guess you didn't play it when it was new. People that pick it up now will think it sucks because the graphics are bad and the controllers are poor compared to the 360s or ps3s.
I played it when it first came out, and the gameplay is 1000 times better that most games out on the market today.
You can complete a new game in 1 day even tho its your first time playing it, and then the fun is over.
In Zelda:Oot/majoras mask you have to think ALOT to progress. It took me at least 1 month to complete the game and i still had alot of side quests to do. I still haven't completed majora's mask.

Zelda:OoT doesn't look good compared to new games but i was very impressed by the graphics when it was released.

you know, im really close between The Megadrive and SNES, i had the megadrive when i was growing up but about 8 years ago i played a load of SNES games and there were so many good ones :/

think the SNES comes just ahead, Sonic > Mario, but Chrono Trigger is the best RPG i've ever played.
