2xT8+2xT9 > 4xT9?

I'm trying to figure out something: I was doing "great" dps when I was using 2xt8+2xt9, but ever since I'm fully geared in t9 I don't so great after all. Before, my dps was low compared to hunters, mages, but I was doing great on total damage even though my dps was lower. Now my dps feels about the same, and my total damage has fallen.

One thing I must admit: I was top of my guild for awhile, and I was told I was gonna reach my limit and shouldn't expect to be on top, ever. That's ok, so be it. But I'm going back to my orginal question: is it possible then being fully T9 geared might not increase my total damage in the end?

Also, side question: I used to use Pendulum of Telluric Currents and now I got my hands on Talisman of Volatile Power. Strictly on a dummy, I seem to do less damage using the Talisman... Is that supposed to be normal? :-\

Yes. The Talisman sucks. There are green trinkets that do better.

What you need to do is check the DPS values of the stat differences combined with the weightings of the set bonuses. As I recall though the 2p T8 is 15% to DP, compared to 5% crit on MF. Since MF is your highest DPS source and DP is substantially lower, I'm not sure which is better. If 2p/2p is better it would only be with the 232 set, the 245 and 258 will be much better.

2) What t8 you have

2pt8.5 will never be worth breaking for 4p t9.232, however if you are getting 245 it gets tricky. For me 4p t9.245 and merlins robe is much better than 2p t8.5 hat + chest and t9 but if you have other t8.5 bits, it may be worth staying with the older items. I would need to know which ones you have and which you are getting.

Well, I got 5xT9 (232), and strangely (on the dummy), I do more dps using T8.5 head and chest (226), using optimal rotation for both sets.

Hmm, thanks anyway... gonna go into the Twilight Zone for that.

I pretty much only run 10 mens, maybe 1 25 men per week (small guild, not hardcore at all)...

Never worth breaking for 232 4 set, if you managed to get 245 4 set then its very worth it. you would need at least 2 245 to make it worth the swap.
