Help Requests & Upgrades - Required Information

If you are making a post asking for help, please be sure to include all of the information needed to troubleshoot your problem. If you make a post that says:

Omg guys! My computer stopped working yesterday! What do I do?
Nobody will know what to suggest for you. Below you'll find suggested information that you should include in your post:

General Information
• CPU (brand, model, speed)
• Motherboard (brand, model, chipset)
• RAM (amount, type, speed)
• Graphics Card (brand, model)
• Power Supply (brand, model, wattage)
• Operating System
• Resolution
• WoW Settings (AA, Shadows, View Distance, Spell Effects...etc)

Video Problems
• dxdiag output (directions found below, Windows only)

Sound Problems
• Sound Card (brand, model)
• dxdiag output (directions found below, Windows only)

Network Problems
• NIC (Network Interface Card) (brand, model, whether PCI or on-board)

Stability Problems
• CPU temperature (see Core Temp)
• GPU temperature (see nVidia's Control Panel or ATi's Catalyst Control Center)

If you need to include dxdiag output, here are the steps to gather that information:
• Click Start
• Click Run
• Enter "dxdiag" in the box and press enter
• In the window that appears, click "Save All Information"
• Save the file to your hard drive (somewhere you can find it later)
• Copy/Paste the information from the file into your post (please put it in a

block) or upload the text file

In general, you will want to be as descriptive as possible. Anyone who has worked with troubleshooting computers will tell you that the most frustrating thing is to miss a simple solution because a piece of information didn't seem relevant.
