Bitch I've been using Winamp since Slot1 was 'in'.

I admit, it is a bit bloated now, but I can't find an alternative that I like.

I was using Winamp before Slot1 Existed. ie when I was a kid. I use foobar now, no need for all the fancy "blah" in winamp.

I was a kid when slot1 was in... although at the time I had a 486. I didn't start using Winamp until I got an old Pentium 166MMX that could actually play MP3 files.

Plus, you're probably older than me anyway.

Certain slot1's overclocked crazy well and easy. Just move a jumper, and you get 30% more power without worrying any voltages or 3rd party coolers or stuff...

I didn't start using Winamp until I got an old Pentium 166MMX that could actually play MP3 files.

I think 80MHz 486 is the minimum hardware to play mp3's on the fly, although CPU usage goes well over 60% on it. Remember using dos based mp2 and mp3 players somewhere back then, just before Win95 came out. (Yes, original internet piracy of music was distributed in 224kbit mp2 format

Indeed, foobar has the same problem as so many free/opensource programs. Too crude UI to be really usable with mouse, minimalism gone wrong.

Eh? Seems rather simple to use the UI to me, and you don't have to keep it super simplistic.

The minimal UI is the only thing I like about it. :P

I hate the way it does playlists, queueing, doesn't have Vent integration, is fiddly with my G15's panel and media keys...

I dislike Vent in the first place, so that part doesn't matter to me. Works great with the media keys on my G19, same as it did with my old original G15. I don't use my panel for my media anyways so no issues there. I used to use playlists, but I haven't in a long time. I just organize my folders a certain way, point it's media library at the root, and just queue up whatever I wan't to listen to at the moment.

theres mine had to reformat recently while been super busy with uni work so not really had a chance to make it all fancy again. try to keep my desktop as clean as possible game wise bar WoW, starcraft (and since there free weekend thing this weekend rift) all my games are launched through steam.
