The thread was a bit quiet over the last couple weeks. What have you been enjoying recently?

Haven't actually been listening much anything lately sadly. Been in a bit of 90s mood lately. However, next up is Blut aus Nord, Ne Obliviscarus, Communic, and Yellow Eyes. Oh and Savage Messiah. Really liked their previous stuff but doubt anyone here likes them.

Gave VUUR a listen but hated it. Gave Samael a listen, didn't care for it either. Ensiferum and Arch Enemy sucked (no surprise there).

Best thing I have heard recently is Spirit Adrift, doom metal in the vein of Khemmis etc. I'm sure that will change soon with Blut aus Nord though.

Finally got around listening to Bell Witch and Hallatar, both great albums. I thought I wouldn't like the Bell Witch album, but it ended up being a pleasant surprise, despite not being a fan of albums that contain one single long track.

Anyone else disappointed by Ne Obliviscaris' new album? I can't stand the cleans, no matter how good the music may be, I hate it. Didn't even get past the first track.

The hell happened to these guys. When Portal of I came out I listened to it for 15 seconds and I instantly purchased that album...

I agree, it is by far the biggest disappointment I've ever experienced in music, sans Morbid Angel's comeback album. Why did you have to remind me?

Portal of I still ranks as one of the best albums of the 10's.

STILL haven't listened to this, but after reading your post (and hellhamster's) I'm glad I didn't bother, and I'll leave this untouched.
