Not metal, but I figure some of the folks here would appreciate the new Chelsea Wolfe album:
Definitely has that eerie feeling a lot of good avant garde or black metal has.

There's a reason she largely tours with black metal bands.
I <3 the new SOiL album. Ryan McCombs is the man!
Doooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom.
I still can't believe these 2 bands are made of humans...

Try Vader if you're tired of bands like In Flames and Adept where the "growling" sounds like a heartbroken 16 year old!
Still much prefer Doc's drumming. Forever a damn shame that guy died so young. Loved his style and it fit Vader so incredibly well.

Question time!
I've been sitting here lamenting the fact that, while Elvenking is still a great band, they've changed dramatically since their early albums. And I really miss that whole Irish Folk Metal thing they had going there for awhile, especially with Heathenreel.
So now I'm on a quest. A quest to find more bands similar to what Elvenking used to be. Anybody have any leads for me to follow?
Skyclad. You're welcome.

In fact, from what I understood, Elvenking will actually perform with former Skyclad vocalist Martin Walkyier.
Hrmmm, interesting...
I really like their newer stuff, but then I went back and listened to Wayward Sons of Mother Earth, and... well, the instrumentals still sounded good, but what the heck was going on with their singer back then? I guess this will have to be like Kamelot where I just pretend the first two albums don't exist...
The last albums don't count in my opinion. However, if you like the new albums, that's all good.
