Its like the nightmare that wont end! A third Twilight movie is in the works... worst part, my Girlfriend found out about it, and told me she wants to see it. Also, she might drag me to the movie theatre.

I'd never had an interest in Twilight and didn't really feel an urge to see it, but it was recently on Sky(cable) and due to all the 'lol worgen r twilight fanboi' crap that's been going around I thought I'd sit down to watch it.
To be perfectly honest it really wasn't that bad. Sure it had its flaws like a lot of movies but it was far from being as bad as people have bashed it on here.

If you don't like it, don't watch it. If you have to be dragged along to see it, think of the things they've done to please you

What happens is.. When you take something nerds love.. Vampires..and turn it into something cute and made for pre-teen girls the hate for this new found idea causes a true nerd rage explosion.

That and I live in Massachusetts so pasty white teens in oversized or undersized hoodies is what I see everyday.

That's not to say there aren't legitimate reasons for people to like twilight but on the internet there is far too many people who have to hear about it when the movie isn't aimed towards them.

And who are you to decide that? Vampires are not real, therefore people can have different opinions about what they look like. I'll just say it, i'm a guy and I love Twillight, I have read all the books, and I think they are really good. No i'm not a "fag" i'm just weird... But the author chose to portrait vampires so they sparkle in the sun (I must admit I find it rather odd too). But that is totally up to her, I understand why a lot of guys don't like Twillight, but seriously, why flame it so hard? Is that really what you do whenever you don't like something? Cry about it on the internet?

Very well said, I have also read the books and watched Twilight/New Moon. The first two books/movies in the series focussed more on plot development and the love triangle developing between Edward, Bella, and Jacob. If anyone in this thread would have taken the time to read the final two books (Eclipse and Breaking Dawn) they would know there is a lot more to this series. Personally I wasn't a big fan of the first 2 books but swear by the final two. If the next two movies are anywhere near as good as the books I am sure these anti-Twilight people will change their minds about the series. I mean come on New Born Vampire war and battle with the Volturi, not to mention the first 10 chapters of Breaking Dawn focus 90% on sex.

Stephenie Meyer could not follow her own rules! She said that vampires could not reproduce. Sure Bella is human, but where would have the sperm come from? Edward is dead, his body pretty much stopped function all those reproducing thing. His heart doesn't beat because his blood doesn't pump through it. So that means his blood has stopped going round his body I would assume. So I ask how does he get an erection?

And Jacob isn't a werewolf. Even Stephenie Meyer wrote that in her book.

A battle that did not even get described in the novel - the one thing I looked forward to when doing my "I'm reading it to be a legitimate part of the hatedom" reading, and she can't even write it. Also, 90% sex does not equal good plot. In fact, it equates to a terrible plot.

Now, at the person who said "One can interpret the Vampires however they wish," my answer is both yes and no. Sure, vampires are fictional, but they are steeped in a tradition that has been passed down the generations since their walking corpse mythos from the middle ages (originating the whole "stake in the heart" thing - the stake was meant to pin the corpse of a vampire into it's grave, and prevent it from rising again).

Now vampires have been interpretted differently throughout the ages; but while they can be re-interpretted, they still need enough of the original part in order to remain "vampires."

Vampires are warded of by Garlic. The Cullens are not.
Vampires can only be killed by a stake through the heart. To kill a Smampire, you need Fire. Not even decapitation can kill them.
Vampires cannot prolongedly walk in sunlight without lethal harm. The Cullens can.
Vampires sleep in coffins. The Cullens do not.
Vampires require human blood to sustain themselves. The Cullens make way with animal blood.
Vampires are Undead. So are the Cullens - it's the only thing they have in common (Even Chibi Vampire has more in common with actual vampires than they do!)

The only one who has less in common with Vampire Tradition than Twilight Vampires is Allucard from Hellsing - and even in his universe, he represents an exception, not the rule (Because he's the most powerful vampire in his universe's existence).

yes the movies have flaws and yes the books have flaws but its all about the love story for me because I'm a girll and I have a weakness for it. Its easy to figure out with me because my main is a deathknight named Bellaautumn and I get into vent for ICC and I'm like "hai guys." then its immediately..."LOL YOU'RE TWILIGHT VANQUISHER BELLAAUTUMN. LOL BELLA LOL." which is true I did the twilight vanquisher just because it has twilight in it and I got a motorcycle to ride around on just like in New Moon pretty much everyone on my server knows because I'm a troll and everyone associates the name Bella with twilight. Super win.
