Starcraft beta announced, "Web Infrastructure Optimisations" announced, and now a PTR.

Looks like they are ready with the battle.net features :P

Well i never had a problem with Frostlotus...i still have ~130 Flasks in my Bank..but then again i am Alchimist on my Rogue so i don´t use so many Flasks But increasing the droprate won´t help if everyone is running around as JC, Enchanter or whatever. At least on my realm the prices are so high because there are only a handfull of Alchimist left who are gathering herbs.
Don't even try. Sound reasoning and common sense are lost to a great many on these forums...

No that would be an increase by 50 percantage units which the post did not say.
The new droprate will be olddroprate *1,5 so for ex if it used to be 10% then it will be 15% now.

lotus is not rare, there are just too much AH reseller, who buy stacks of lotus and make flasks for profit ... there aren't much ppl farming herbs, when i'm gathering 2hours a week, i have enough for 2 weeks flasks and 2k worth flasks for AH profit

Frost lotus chance = 5% per node.

    50% increase = 7.5%

    Fail math students are fail.

Thank you. Best to get this obligatory post out of the way so some people don't think they're going to see 10g Frost Lotuses any time soon.

The real reason frost lotus is that Herbalism is still the only profession in the game that gives no raiding advantage whatsoever. Many don't get it on alts anymore. If herbalism give some sort of dps advantage in raids, more would stay herbalism and you'd see far more nodes farmed by people doing dailies.

The lack of people flying to instances has also hurt the market a bit. Alll you have left now for constant lotus supply are people who still have an alt with herbalism that they can do farm runs on once in a while.

PTR can only mean one thing, preparation for Cataclysm, and the events leading to it of course. Also the new dragon bosses under Wyrmrest Temple.

You mean, they wouldn't be so high if Blizzard hadn't been trying their best to increase the raiding population, without a corresponding increase in the supply of mandatory raiding materials.

Re: Frost Lotus Droprate, Incoming PTR Patch

As a herbalist, I don't know whether to be happy for less cost for flasks or sad because I don't get 45g each guaranteed off someone anymore (Mass COD). Of course, it's not like I farm that much anyways, weekend-only playtimes suck. And since I stopped farming heroics for triumphs for my 232, most of which is replaced by now, I rarely fly around Icecrown herbing while in the LFG queue.

I really hope they balance the profession bonuses... while lifeblood is a good oh shit button, for reducing grind downtime or for soloing elites in conjunction with enraged regeneration, it just doesn't cut it. 15% of your HP <<<<< extra sockets or 1337 gems.

Think they're increasing the current drop rate by 50%. It means if it's 2%, it will be 3% after this buff.
