This method is how the first warlock(or player, can't remember) got to 80, and it really is a good spec. Here is a post about it:

The playstyle is the same as aff, dot a ton of mobs up, then just let them beat on you while you are healed, and when wrath launched was by far the best leveling spec for lock after 71. However after 3 patches, some nerfs to demo, and some MAJOR buffs to affliction, haunt/SL is preferred now. I tried both at 71 myself, both work great, haunt/SL just better. Why dot up everything, then round them up so your FG can cleave them down because 2dots aren't enough, when you can simply just 2 dots and be done about it? It is new to patch 3.3, so that is why it isn't as well known as even SL/FG. If you can't bear to part with your FG, through fetish or some other reason, SL/FG spec is FAR better than pure demo for leveling.

I would also suggest leveling as afflic. When i leveled mine i would run in and dot everything, if they hit hard use fear, or howl, dot dot tab dot dot tab. Then when you hit 70 and get SoC. lol More fun begins, i send my felpup in and I just SoC (Seed of Corruption) tab, SoC, tab, SoC, tab, and they all just blow up its awesome. You will also learn to kite and manage ads. Fear is your friend if you learn to use it. Don't fear if there are crap loads of adds around unless you learn to manage everything.

Affliction was hella fun leveling over demon.

haha, you have given me new hope in this forum, I was afraid no one also drain tanked

Though you might have been underestimating your abilities if you had to use fear a lot. If I can take +12 mobs higher level than me attacking my lock at once just fine without soul link in average questing greens, then anyone should be fine taking on several mobs the same way. Also while I am not a huge fan of it, some do like to use instant HoT to agro more mobs so you have less footwork. TBH I find in most cases this just causes the mobs to die while spread out more so you have to move around more to loot, but in higher concentrated areas it has some merit.

Also if you are wondering why I am posting here so much, besides being bored, few people here seem to know how to drain tank, and this topic is getting a lot of people reading it, so I figure this is the best way for me to help locks understand how to drain tank for leveling

Affliction is the way forward with levelling, the only down time i had with pulling packs of mobs was looting and waiting for them to spawn. It's a matter of dotting up 2 to 3 camps of mobs and using voidy to shield yourself and what not. you end up often healing more damage than the mobs put out if not just use a health stone or howl of terror to give you a bit of room and you're sorted. You have no mana issues since you just life tap for more mana and the health you're draining from the mobs tends to top you off. I reccommend it to at least 70.

Because no one has posted in a little while, I thought I would explain why using felhunter is a better choice than VW, even though bubble is pretty nice.

VW bubble is great, it absorbs a lot of damage, prevents spell pushback, and since it is paired with VW which is THE tank pet, makes for a great combo. However after you get siphon life, you stop using him, at least to tank. Some people like to keep him for the two "OH SNAP" buttons, others prefer a DPS pet instead. At 42 felhunter is the best choice for a couple reasons:

It brings a better buff than imp brings
It does more damage than succy
Provides dispels against magic, which is one of the worst class of debuffs to encounter while leveling
Can CC casters, or stop healers
But most importantly, it makes the best mana battery for dark pact.

Now you may be wondering why dark pact is so great, your minions have mana problems on their own, and you can life tap. The reason is that felhunter regens mana at a VERY rapid raid, about 8% mana every 2 seconds. Since he has a sizable mana pool, this means unless you spam it a lot for some reason, you should have no problem using dark pact instead of life tap. It also gives a bigger return of mana than life tap each time you use it.

Now to the subject of this post, why is dark pact better for survivability than sacrifice? Well look at it this way:

Lets say sacrifice absorbs 1000 damage, and dark pact returns 250 mana each time you use it. Now when you life tap you lose health just as if you were attacked, so if you use dark pact 4 times, it saves you as much health as sacrifice would, and if you dark pact any more, then you would surpass it. Couple this with the reasons I gave above and felhunter truly shines as the best pet for affliction leveling, once get gets shadowbite(42).

note: sacrifice also provides immunity against spell pushback, but fel concentration takes care of this for an aff lock.

There was a post i thought it was a sticky, in here that was about leveling a warlock, he had several talents posted and how to survive with each and what to do and not to do. It was a post that helped me maximize my leveling and dps. I will try to find it and post it, looks like it was move or un-stickied.

Found it, I am unsure why it isnt stickied but it should be.

That actually is a pretty good guide. Has a few errors in it, such as taking nightfall for a drain tank spec(I can explain why that is a bad idea if you like) but most errors are common misconceptions that few locks realize, and so far the best guide for leveling a lock I have seen so far.

If you like, any difference between the builds he recommends and the build I suggested I can back up my reasons for taking/not taking talents he didn't/did take, as well as reasons why he would believe X talent is a good choice when it is not, and then you can decide for yourself how you wish to spec

edit: if I come across as either conceded or an aff fan-boy, I am neither. IMO I like demo for PVE content like instances better than aff, and my build I suggested came from one almost identical to the build suggested in the guide, but through extensive testing have evolved it to the place it is now. I am here just to help out, and if you have any other questions, no matter how trivial you think it is, feel free to ask
