    New PC build - LF Suggestions / Reviews

    Hi - I'm currently in the market for a new computer as mine is about to give out on me here. I have done quite a bit of research on things and was wondering what the Mmo - champion community had to think about the PC components I have selected

    HAF 922 Case</a>

    Gigabyte p55 USB 3 Motherboard</a>

    i5 750 2.66ghz with Turbo Boost</a>

    XFX 5770 ATI Video Card</a>
    <a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...E16817139006">
    Corsair 750watt PSU</a>
    <a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...E16820231277">
    G.Skill 4 GB Ram DDR3 1600</a>
    <a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...E16822136495">
    Western Digital 1.5TB HDD</a>
    <a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...E16835233029">
    XIGMATEK CPU Cooler/ 1156 Mounting Bracket</a>
    <a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...E16827135202">
    Asus CD/DVD Drive 18x</a>

    I also added in Windows 7 and a Case fan to go along with the build. What kind of performance do you think I will get in WoW will full settings except for shadows in a 25 man raid? Also how about with around 35 MB of Addon Memory? How will it perform then? Not too sure about the HDD's speed, but it seemed a decent one to go with

    Looks good.

    My i5 750 is clocked at 3.8GHz and pulls 60fps in ICC25 during combat with everything at max, except shadows is at about half.

    System looks good. Just wanted to drop an option for ya. I dont know much about the xigmatek cooler you have on your list but I have the coolermaster hyper 212 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835103065 and my I5 750 runs at 3.5Ghz 24/7 and at 100% load i NEVER go over 50c and it idles at 27-30c (one of my cores runs about 3c hotter than the others.)

    For 34 bucks the coolermaster hyper 212 is a very good cooler and competes with coolers that cost a lot more.

    I'd go for the Samsung F3 hdd instead of the wd. Theyre proven to be much faster.

    I would suggest This Ram because of the lower Cas Latency, yours is 9 this one is 7.

    Also, if you plan on some of the more modern games, I would suggest a Radeon 5870 or a 5850.

    The 5770 is a great card for WoW or low/mid-end games though.

    I wouldnt be able to use that Ram because my motherboard is triple channel

    Wrong, it's dual channel. You can have any amount of ram in the motherboard, but putting in one stick would limit you to single channel in a dual channel board, likewise if you were to put less than 3 sticks in a triple channel board. The performance difference is negligible netween single channel, dual channel, triple channel, quad channel and whatever. I could remove all buy one stick of ram from my computer and it would stll operate even though it supports dual channel.

    A 5770 is the best bang for the buck video card out at the moment. Do not think that makes it a budget card, because it is not a budget card by any means. It can handle a lot more than low end/mid-end games. It might not be able to play them smoothly on super high res with AA/AF cranked up but for the average user/gamer, it is more than satisfactory and it can handle just about any game on high settings.

    WoW is not that graphically demanding, and most users are confused why they get 100+ fps in some other "super modern" game but can only manage to pull 30 fps in WoW... With that said, since a 5770 can easily handle WoW, it means it can handle any other game.

    This 100%. I haven't played many of the latest and greatest, but I have recently played Just Cause 2 on full graphics at a fluid framerate (I tend to notice a difference in framerate at 45-50fps, so it was more than that, but I never loaded FRAPS to really check). I use a 5770 at stock clocks with an i5 750 @ 3.8GHz.
