This bear wants more DPS!

Hi.

I've recently bin thinking to actually eqquip something that would give me more DPS on certain fights. I'm currently doing ~5-6k on average fights, and i'd like to improve this by swapping tanking gear out. Now is the question, what items should i replace, for what?

I'm talking here about fights like saurfang normal (10/25), festergut, etc. We're doing heroics more then enough, but sometimes - if we get a slack group - we might do some normal bosses, which is atm in gear value to easy.

My alt bear isn't nearly as far in progression nor gear, yet I already swap items for some of these bosses. My criteria for swapping is typically this - "have the healers demonstrated that they're more than capable of keeping me up without breaking a sweat?" (to note - I'm not in a raiding guild, and PuG everything).

What I do typically is to swap out my trinkets to more dps-oriented ones (included the old standby Greatness card) as well as my neck. One of these days I'll have enough frost to pick up the Recovered Scarlet Onslaught Cape (which itself isn't a half-bad tanking cloak for bears); if I had it today, I'd use it on these bosses as well.

This said, I have been in a PuG once where I overestimated the healers - the Lower Spire is definitely easier on them than Festergut, and I got pounded in short order after swapping too much gear. Our second try that night went off without a hitch (likely mostly because the healers woke up after the wipe but having the extra hp & armor buffer probably helped), though my dps on the fight was at least a few hunder lower than on the better nights.

Off-topic: My first posting here - can anyone tell me how to put in a db.mmo or wowhead link that will show the item in a mouseover hover box?

I use NES in my dps bear set and swap in kittie items to hit the ArP softcap.

I am only seeing that you have completed Heroic Lootboat, maybe try some heroic bosses for more of a challenge, or rock some awesome boomkin dps, since that spec provides you with dps.

This'd be because i'm raiding on my warlock in 25man. Talking about 10man MAINLY.

So you pull 5-6k dps in a 10 man as a tank? Yet you have not cleared a single wing on heroic? You should change the title of this thread to "I am carrying my 10 man ICC group, please help me find better players"

Lets reform my sentence even more, hence you're so interested in it.

- My main is my warlock
- We have 3 groups ICC10
- 1 ICC25
- Warlock raids ICC25, and 1 ICC10
- Druid raids last ICC10
- Guess what

Now, could we go back to the topic, and see what kind of items i could replace more? =)

You really need people to tell you what to replace? Get a kitty set and start wearing random pieces of it. If you want to do more dps, wear gear that improves your dps.... I know it's a complicated concept, but you're a smart cookie; You'll figure it out.

Grab a DBW for easy fights, when it procs 600 agil you're sexed up.
Use your badges and get a new tier set. Socket it with some stam and agil gems. If you think you're really badass and you can survive anything, go for arpen.

I'd stick with tanking enchants for now. You don't wanna drop your HP too much. I haven't even raided in a few months so I'm not sure where bears are sitting right now as far as common HPs but with a 15% buff, reg ICC should be as hard as kara or naxx.

Ok here come some replacements,

first of all get ride of your current weapon, that is a Kitty staff and not a tanking one, go for the one from Blood Queen, it will boost you a bit http://www.wowhead.com/item=50178

Second, exchange your fraction ring for the DPS one, drop the tanking ring, there isn't much difference in the long run in regards to the damage you take but the dps is better also drop the second tank ring, go for a dps one. http://www.wowhead.com/item=50025 this one is a very nice one and guess what more expertise.

Third, replace the damm defense neck with the one dropping from Syndragosa on 10 http://www.wowhead.com/item=51779 or 25 man http://www.wowhead.com/item=50421.

Next one, exchange your chest for the one from Gunship, hit and expertise are your friends as bear and tbh you're way under hit capped, so misses are there to be had and you're way under expertise so again parry's are there. as a lot of the bosses in ICC parry gib, your healers will thank you. http://www.wowhead.com/item=50001

I've got a double kitty / tank gear, and like said before from time to time i exchange some of the pieces from my tank gear. what i sometimes do is exchange one of my trinkets for http://www.wowhead.com/item=50362 it looks funny a bear in Tonka form but hey it does the job.
