    Graphic error in WOW

    Hello everyone,

Im a long time follower of MMO-champion and now a first time poster.

I need some expert help, a couple of days ago I got some weird graphical errors in WOW, my first reaction was that my graphics card was overheating but I checked nTune only to find that it was about the same as its always been (about 75C under load).

Check this video to see what Im talking about http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_RzzK23zNA , look at buildings and trees etc. Can anyone explain this? What can I do to fix it, the problem is only showing in World of Warcraft, I have tried other games like Metro 2033, Assassins Creed 2, Splinter Cell Conviction and Just Cause 2, none of them shows any errors at all.

Can add that I have tried to update the drivers to the latest, tried reinstalling directx to latest

Thanks in advance for any help!

    The info:

    * CPU: Athlon X2 5200+

Did you change the video settings recently? That same thing happened to me when I put the video settings too low, specifically multisampling and I set my colors to 16 bit or something. Try in wow but I think I did it on my videocard settings. Just tell your video card to do what the program tells it.

Updated the post with the information I forgot, sorry about that.

Also I havent changed anything myself, I have checked and the graphics settings in windows do say to let the program decide the settings and I have tried switching to higher Multisampling setting but its no difference.

This. Make sure you're not set to 16-bit color in game.

Thanks alot, as you guys suggested was indeed the 16bit depth thing that was messing things up. Weird thing though was that I could not choose 24bit depth in the Video menu in WOW any more, but I found a couple of /console commands to force it back to 24bit and that fixed it.

If anyone else has the problem and cant set it in the menu you can try to type this:

    /console gxcolorbits 24
    /console gxdepthbits 24
/console gxMultisample 4 (or whatever multisample you want)
    /console gxrestart

    Thanks again!

There was another thread recently where that was an issue. I'm curious to know what's causing the 24-bit color depth to disappear from people's option dropdown.
