Can anyone tell me the Prot Paladin caps for level 60 or at least give me a link to a website? Defense, Dodge, Parry, Expertise and Hit. Also out of those stat's whats the order on importance for gemming? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Unless you are trying to twink a lvl 60 prot paladin for the vanilla raids, why are you concerned with caps?
-There is no such thing as a dodge or parry cap. They will DR a bit, but that's not capping.
-The hit cap is percentage based for raiding and is always 8% for raid boss mobs (this comment holds true until Cataclysm).
-Expertise is a threat stat and ideally you want to at least reduce the dodge chance of your target by 6.5%(the soft cap) which will prevent them from dodging attacks completely. This same amount of expertise will reduce the target's chance to parry by the same amount. Mobs/bosses can have an extremely high parry chance (upwards of 17%) so you shouldn't worry about hard capping expertise.
-The defense cap for a lvl 60 character against a raid boss is 440 (or 140 defense skill from gear)
You can calculate the defense cap for any level by using the information below.
5 x (player level) + 140 Defense skill (to avoid critical hits from targets that are 3 levels above you) = Defense cap for any level
Rating conversions at level 60 :
- defense rating to 1 defense skill : 3/2
- dodge rating to 1% dodge : 13.8
- parry rating to 1% parry : 13.8
- block rating to 1% block : 5
- agility to 1% dodge : ~22.9
- hit rating to 1% physical hit : 10
- hit rating to 1% spell hit : 8
- expertise rating to 1 expertise skill : 5/2
Against level 60+3 NPCs, the "caps" to shoot for are :
Keep in mind that any talent/racial modifiers were ignored.
- 140 additional defense skill (up to a total of 440 skill), corresponding to 210 defense rating
- 80 hit rating (hit softcap)
- 26 expertise skill, corresponding to 65 expertise rating (expertise softcap)
A set of outland tanking greens (58-60) will probably put you over the def cap for lvl 60 and will be better than most everything you will get from drops. If you can find any of the random blues or some crafted stuff they would probably be better than anything vanilla also. If you have a lvl 80 main you might be able to get some boa stuff too.

Anyway, tlitd explained it pretty well although according to my calculations you need 57 expertise rating and not 65 for softcap.

OT: ignore gemming if you're not using Outland gear, but if you do, gem for avoidance. Mana pools are small enough without a stupid amount of health to heal up.
What do you think you know and how do you think you know it?
Are you conscious in the sense of being aware of your own awareness?
http://www.wowwiki.com/Combat_rating_system should have the numbers you need.

3 of those links are the same items. Besides, none of these items has defense, dodge, parry, hit or expertise on them. If i was a level 60 prot paladin who wanted to reach the cap on those stats, i'd go with vanilla endgame gear, not retribution TBC blues.Originally Posted by Nienniora

1st its 2 not 3
2nd not the same name, during tbc one was spell crit and the other melee crit, check the gem bonus
3rd 25 stam for 60 content is a lot and add in a epic wotlk gem and it beat anything you could get at that level (dodge/parry/def/expertise)
