i also remember from classic when hunters would go to some dragon i don't remember which and kite it all the way to ironforge and it killed everyone and a gm had to come in and give it the ban hammer.
someone mentioned AV lasting a maximum of 5 hourse, untrue, i remember AV´s which lasted more than 32 houres
warlocks could fear/dot enemies to death
will of the forsaken made undead immune to fear for about 2 seconds
forsaken racial underwater breathing lasted endless
during vanilla there was a statistics page on the warcraft homepage which showed the top playerkillers ... vaelastrasz was first place every week
warlocks could make enemies fear immun but lower their atp (curse of recklessnes)
There was a time back when paladin seals lasted 2 minutes. And each time you casted judgement it would remove the seal and put the debuff on the enemy, so you would have to recast the seal again.
Seal of wisdom> Judgement> Seal of wisdom removed> Recast seal of wisdom
You had to do this each time you wanted to judge an enemy
It took me a long time to learn not to recast my seal when i judged (After they changed it)
Skinning in MC used to require max plus finkle skinner knife or Zullan Slicer from ZG. Zullan Slicer was obviously later in vanilla then UBRS Finkle oh how I farm to get mine.
Shadowmeld and Aim shot was 3 sec cast but 1-2 shotting clothies in BG's was epic.
Ques for bg's were hours long (4hrs on Dalaran) for AV and battles lasted literally 24hrs. Rare but did happen. Most lasted 2 hours or less.
Originally there were only 8 servers (the dirty 8)

We had an AV run 48+ hours a lot. It was generally every other weekend at least. I'd log off for the night, sleep 8 hours, log on and get right back into the same game. Also, on the subject of Hunters, using Shadowmeld/Aimed Shot as a Night Elf (when Aimed Shot had a cast time, and abilities wouldn't pull you out of Shadowmeld instantly) in PvP. Also, 1.0 Attack Speed pets. The bat out of Zul'Gurub and Broken Tooth from the Badlands.

Yes, we plan to include player housing as soon as possible after the game launches.Even in beta... and apparently was supposed to be a 5-man...World dungeons, which are grander in scale than micro dungeons, are specifically designed for more epic encounters. A character will never be required to eat or drink. Nor will there be negative consequences for not consuming food and water. While the specifics have not been determined, there will be benefits associated with eating and drinking.

There will be a huge variety of things to do to keep players from feeling like they just have to grind through one creature battle after another. Characters can craft items, fight in vast battles against other players, establish homes, and explore distant lands.

Yes. In addition to crowd-control spells such as these, there will be a wide assortment of other spells and abilities that will vary the tactics players use to defeat monsters. Some examples are Call Lightning, Fear, and Dominate.

This one is actually not exact enough. There was nothing named as "Spellpower" until WotLK changes. In BC we had "Increases damage dealt by X spells by Y" (OR something like that I don't remember exactly) And "Increases healing done by spells by X" What you are talking about is that these two "Stats" (Increased healing or damage by spells) was very rare and low on Vanilla gear and intelligence did the job for casters back then.

- there was no Forbearance ... you could use bless of protection and then bubble (or the opposite).
- you could get killed as a ghost if Bless of sacrifice was still on the target (you still received dmg even dead)
- somewhere around naxxramas patch there was a bug with rampage that a guy stacked a zilions of charges and was oneshotting things on naxx.
- med pet scaled with +heal ... a hunter solo'd Azshara world boss with mend pet.
- Hyjal had Archimonde skeleton at the base of the World Tree.
- crit and hit itens were % not ratings ... like +1% crit etc.
In alpha the females where less feminine.
Also, hunter pets were not normalized and had different attack speeds, the fastest being Broken tooth, a rare cat from the dunes just below uldamans 2nd entrance.
He had a 1.0 attackspeed, which made him a casters worst nightmare due to the insane interrupts. He spawned every 5-6 days, so it was not uncomming to see hunters lurking about to tame him.
I know I personally spent a week camping the spot to find him
Oh, and rogues had the ability to macro a weaponswitch into their ambush skill, which made it possible to ambush with a 2.6 speed sword.
Same, it was a bitch with that change!
