Very interesting read. Thank you.
Very interesting read. Thank you.
A lot of the stuff i knew already, but you brought back some nice memories.![]()
One thing to kind of, 'correct' in your post. You said that while shamans did have tanking talents in vanilla, they were not able to tank much other than the occasional trash. That is rather false, we had a shaman off tank in my guild back when BWL was the newest raid. We used him to MT several bosses in MC, and also for onyxia. I will attempt to find a video![]()
I dont know if this has been posted yet but once upon a time high level warlocks could cast curse of recklessness on low level mobs fighting lowbies and them mob could effectively one shot them from the AP bonus of the spell.
Nice topic, I'd just like to add that it's still possible for Combat rogues to enter "lower Kara". I went there in 3.3.5 and the place is freaking scary! O_o
is there any information on the sewer beast that lurks the canals of Stormwind ?
That's Stockades isn't it? The highest bit on the pic is the room where you go down the steps to the instance portal. Correct me if i'm wrong but...Originally Posted by Palidan;8133704[url

Buuuump. Moar people need to see legendary threads like this!
This brings me a lot of memories...
I had totally forgot that, for example, you had to mine 2-4 times for one node. They also stacked.
Good ol' times...

The sewer beast still spawns, just extremely rare
Way too many pages now to try and see if anyone has mentioned this:
The Warlock spell "Inferno" (to summon an Infernal) was a very rare drop from demons in the Blasted Lands. You basically HAD to have a 5-man party (or more) to kill these guys, and then you had to get lucky for the drop. I want to say the Ritual of Doom book had to be similarly farmed. Sadly, I was in my mid-50s when both spells were changed to quest rewards, so I never got to farm them. Yes, I wanted to farm them.
The Hunter ability "Tranquilizing Shot" was a BoP drop from Lucifron in Molten Core and was required to kill Magmadar. After all of our Hunters got their skill book we just started handing the book to whomever wanted it. I got the first "extra" one and my Warlock still has the book in his bank.
Thrall was killed by a group of Horde, not Alliance. There was a Horde quest at the time that, if you failed, would make you able to attack your own faction for 5-minutes. A group managed to get a full raid of people at 60 who had never done the quest. They all intentionally failed the quest and attacked / killed Thrall. While the players could attack Horde NPCs, the guards would not counter attack, so the kill was pretty easy. There is a video on Youtube, but I'm too new here to post links.
(YouTube video link is named World of Warcraft: First Horde Thrall kill)
