Updating graphics drivers with a smartarse version of windows.

Well I upgraded to Windows 7 ultimate recently and its great, love it. After years of using XP its nice to have something softer and lighter to use.
However I am an avid gamer and as such I keep my graphic drivers upto date and this is where the problem lies.

Windows says that the latest drivers are from 2009 which is wrong and as such I have downloaded drivers to install from the AMD/Ati website.
Whenever I install them though it reinstalls these drivers over the top.
Is there a way to stop windows trying to act so smart so I can manually install the drivers I need?


Edit... Nevermind.
Windows seems to have resolved the issue on its own.
