Pi macro help

Im looking to make a macro for my raid that would cast power infusion on a random member, if there is an automated way or typing in each member. Each caster is looking for my PI and wanted to make it fair.

Seems the best option is casting it on the caster that would use it best.

I don't believe that is possible, but I could be wrong. You should really just give it to your best caster dps per fight per situation. And don't give it out during Bloodlust/Heroism...

Mine usually gets given out based on which caster i can see in range that isnt a mage using their mirror images (or w/e its called). All our casters are pretty much on par for DPS so it doesn't much matter...i confess to a weakness for Moonkins tho *blush*

Fairness doesn't really come into it tbh, it should be being used to the raids' advantage.

Sorry to say, there is no way to make a macro randomly select a target for you. Your best option would be to target one of your known raidhealers (like a holypriest), and /assist the person in question. This will select whatever target he has, which on most fights is fairly random, but it doesn't work if that healer uses mouseover macros (no targets).

I suggest just treating it as a normal healing spell, and just cast it on any nearby mage.

Shadow Priests are good choices, so are Boomkins during Eclipse and even Mages sometimes. Depends on your players, situation, fight, and gear really.

Bloodlust probably isn't the best time to use it since the player will be GCD capped already during it (and even though spells still get faster, it's better to do it after BL so his GCD is lowered over a longer period of time).

BL overwrites PI and they don't stack, so don't give PI during BL.

I use this macro to PI the highest DPSser from 1st boss. (I fill in the name manually)
Normally, PI would be your 63rd spell in the spellbook and this way I can just spam that button and the target will only read it twice in a row (three times if you're really spammy)
You can also just remove the /script line.

Random targetting in raids is not possible since /cast allows no scripting

Being fair should have nothing to do with it. Always PI the highest DPS caster. That will provide the biggest raid benefit.

Random is a VERY bad idea. What if that random person is a rogue?

Seriously, figure out roughly who makes the best use of it and give it to them. If you're not sure, and they keep arguing about it, just ask an officer who handles caster assignments or just pick the top caster on your damage meters.

Fair is overrated. Cast it on the highest caster dps that isn't haste capped. If someone wants PI they can play better.
