    Home, but not Safe

Dew clings to the grass as the morning sun rises over Nagrand. Garona rests against a massive tree, watching the day begin and the world around her come to life. She stretches out as the sun crests the distant mountains, breathing in the fresh, familiar air.

With a warm sigh, the half-orc woman lifts herself to her feet and looks down the road ahead. Not far down the road stands the Ring of Trials, looming emptily over the countryside around it. As she moves to gather her handful of belongings, the tree above her rustles faintly in the windless morning. She pauses for a moment, reaching for a throwing knife. She spins quickly on her heel and flings the knife into the branches above. At first, silence, then a pained gurgle as a red-skinned orc tumbles out of the tree with a blade buried deeply in his neck.

Several shouts ring out from the tree as Garona draws a short sword and Kingsbane, a wickedly-curved dagger. Five fel orc ambushers drop down all around her and attack at once. With a grin, the master assassin crouches for a jump, leaping into the air and into a tightly-coiled back tuck. She sails over the orc directly behind her and brings her boots down into the face of another, kicking off of it forcefully to bury both of her blades into the back of the orc she flipped over. Pushing the dying orc down with the force of her jump, she somersaults forward over the body, yanking her blades free and driving them into the chest of the assassin in front of her.

She stands up and brings her boot up to the astonished orc's chest. Smiling a little too brightly, she kicks forward and drags her blades out of his body. Behind her, two other assassins cry out. Shaking her head exasperatedly, the woman spins around and parries the first orc with her short sword, while Kingsbane deflects the second orc's axe, driving forward and into the assassin's eye. The first orc's parried strike throws him off balance, and Garona twists the dagger into the second orc's head, throwing him forward and using his weight to propel her around. She brings the short sword up and, as her twisting strike draws the dagger out of the second orc, the short sword slices forward and through the first assassin's neck, decapitating him cleanly.

Garona stands up and turns around, facing the last, quivering fel orc. Even as she starts to speak, the assassin can only concentrate on his four brethren dead or dying on the ground, and the two blades dribbling with blood in the master assassin's hands. “It's nice to see you all, I needed a workout this morning.” Advancing on the last assassin, she rolls her head from side to side, the bones in her neck crackling and popping from the effort. Tripping over one of the tree's roots, the last fel orc cowers, looking up into her face. “Now, you got lucky and managed not to get wounded, so I'll make you a deal. You tell me who sent you to kill me, and I'll let you leave.” She kneels down over him, twirling Kingsbane in her hand.

The assassin looks up at her, then back down at the pool of blood beginning to spread from the bodies of the other assassins, soaking into the dirt. He swallows hard, his face steeling with resolve. With a hard kick, he pushes Garona away from him and grabs a small horn from his belt. The assassin sounds a bellowing alarm that echoes across the valley for only a moment before the master assassin's short sword pierces straight through his chest.

Falling face first into the dirt, the orc gasps for breath and squirms as his lifeblood pours into the grass. An answering horn call from the north reverberates through the valley, and he smiles weakly. In a last act of defiance, he turns and looks up at Garona as she cleans her blades of blood, chuckling faintly “...why don't you...meet him yourself...” The master assassin spits on him and sheathes her weapons, looking towards the source of the call. Already, a dust cloud was forming, kicked up by the mounts of whatever awaited her. Not wanting to deal with the cavalry, she turns and dashes southwards, hoping to take refuge in the arena.

Walking through the archway, Garona slips along the wall and carefully searches the arena floor. Four pillars obscure her view, but most of the sand seems undisturbed. She jogs her way along the wall, trying to stay as obscured as possible. She makes it about halfway across the floor before a squad of fel orcs ride through the archway behind her. Leaning into the run, the half-orc woman dashes towards the other exit.

A second squad of orcs rides in ahead of her, blocking the exit. Each one draws a weapon and threatens her, shouting for her to stay back. In a swift motion, she draws Kingsbane and leaps onto the wall next to the nearest orc. Garona kicks off of the wall, kneeing the nearest orc in the jaw. As he falls from his wolf, the assassin kicks off of the orc's chest and dives towards the next.

Fully prepared, the orc swings his axe upwards and deflects the strike, sending the half-orc into a spiral. She tucks in tightly and coils in time to land on her feet, rushing towards the opening in the orcs' ranks. Garona hardly gets a few steps before something heavy slams into her stomach. The force lifts the half-orc up and throws her backwards, knocking the wind right out of her lungs. Tumbling backwards through the sand, Garona coughs as she catches her breath and stands up, glaring at the orcs.

Behind her, Garona hears a deep, shadowed laughter. She turns around to find the source as a large object plummets from the sky. At the last moment, great black wings unfurl and catch the falling man, who lands turns towards the half-orc.

He is tall, much taller than Garona or the fel orcs guarding the exits. Large, curved horns protrude from his head, where globes of fiery green light burn from behind a tattered blindfold covering his eyes. Tattoos cover most of his bared purple chest, each of them blazing with emerald power. With a sinister grin, he reaches forward and beckons to the half-orc. “Face me, and suffer for your insolence.”

Lord of Outland, Illidan Stormrage vs. Garona Halforcen, Kingslayer

Spinning Kingsbane in her hand, Garona moves forward slowly. Illidan stands in the center of the arena, surrounded by each of the pillars. He raises his hands to crack his knuckles, unfurling his wings to rest out to his sides, not even bothering to draw weapons on the assassin.

The assassin rushes forward and Illidan slides into a basic stance to prepare. Garona leaps to the side and takes a few steps up the pillar, using her empty hand to fling several shuriken at the demon hunter, before kicking off and drawing her short sword. Illidan raises a hand, a jet of demonic fire bursting from his palm and engulfing the spinning knives. They fall to the ground as smelted bits of metal, even as the Betrayer steps back and easily dodges the half-orc's diving, overhead strike.

Flattening her hands, the assassin lands in a handstand and springs back up towards the demon hunter. She aims the kick into Illidan's face, while twisting around and bringing her blades upward. Grinning pretentiously, his hand bolts upward and grabs her by the ankles just before she kicks him. He twists around and throws her towards a pillar, but not before being caught by the assassin's dagger and sword. Garona crashes head-first into the stone as Illidan roars in pain, causing the glow of his eyes and tattoos to blaze brightly.

The Lord of Outland looks at Garona, face filled with hate, as the half-orc stands shakily. The assassin looks up at the demon hunter, breathing slightly heavier than usual, and searches him for the wounds she knows she caused. Deep gashes in Illidan's side are still wide open, but instead of gushing blood, they rage with demon's fire. He rushes forward, surprisingly quick for someone of his size, grasping Garona quickly and pinning her to the pillar with one hand. The short sword falls from her grasp, the half-orc's hand reaching up to tug at the Betrayer's tight grip. With a desperate lunge, she tries to drive Kingsbane into the demon hunter's arm, but Illidan knocks it away.

Snarling in anger, he lifts the half-orc up against the pillar, moving to encompass her head in his hand. She struggles and flails, trying to free herself from his grasp. The Lord of Outland clenches his hand into a fist, a loud crackling sound echoing through the silent arena before the assassin stops struggling, dangling from the Betrayer's grasp. Tossing the limp body away, Illidan spits on the ground before taking off into the open roof of the arena.

Bracket 3 seems a bit boring, thrall will fight orgrim(who is obviously stronger than rexxar, and if not rexxar is still weaker than thrall), and that can easily be decided since a younger thrall beat Orgrim in his prime, Then most likely thrall will face Sylvanas and this seems another victory for thrall so I think we already have the bracket 3 winner.
