    Red face Chunky boots

No, this thread is not about some pirate with a nickname. This thread is about the model that they began using in WotLK for certain boots (mostly mail/plate, I believe). Here's a comparison image to illustrate which model I mean:

On the left side, there's a rather generic, skin-tight boot-model. On the right side is the "new" model.

In my opinion, the chunky model looks a zillion times cooler and the character (a Night Elf in this case) looks much more like she's outfitted for battle and travel. If it was up to me (which it isn't, obviously) we'd be seeing this kind of model (chunky instead of skinny) a lot more in WoW.
What do you guys think of this model? Vote and post, please :3

EDIT: An example of these boots can be found here: Rock-Steady Treads, in case you want to view them in-game or in 3d through Wowhead or whatever. Oh and sorry for the typo at "incredibly" in the first voting option.

This, and I loved the "chunk" boot model the moment I saw them.

This. The "clunky" boots is a lot more like how the models should be.

agreed, i like the "chunky boots" lol.

While those particular boots look crummy, "chunky" armor in general is for certain better.

    I approve of that.
The skin-tight ones are ugly and definately not suited for plate boots.
They should stick using this model for leather /cloth mostly than plate.
I can't take off my Deathwisper25 Boots from my pvp set cause the pvp ones look butt-ugly.

They don't look right for leather and mail boots, or when you still have a skin tight leg armour, but I really like the model when used as plate armour. I hope in cata they continue to use these and the thicker leg armour too.

the chunky boots look amazing in my opinion, i think they should be bigger. It really gives me a "badass" feeling walking around on my Dwarf.

    Indeed.

Yeah, chunky models for armor is better.

    Why do I want soup...

Not only the boots, even the pants have a bit more chunkyness to them. First used in plate T9, now also in hunter T10.

it does seem to stick out more, IMO all gear should feel visible.

except shoulders. for crying out loud i'm trying to stealth here with shoulders fitted for male orcs...

Well, the heavier, more clunky boots were obviously designed to make stepping on gnomes less work. The heavier the boot, the less force you have to put on the gnome to crush it's skull.

I mean, ya.... they look better...

I like the "chunky" boots more of course. There are also gloves out there with the same effect on them, some are just like re-textures of your hand rather then looking like your wearing gloves. I think they went a little too far with the belts though, looks like you just won a professional wrestling tournament.

usually the ret plate pvp boots are like the first case, dunno about mail/otherplate loot, but yes, its kinda obvious the chunky is wAy better

Chunky boots should of been implemented at release of the game. Imagine the pinklet boots from Chromaggus with chunky-ness. Arrmmggh <3

i think chunky is good for plat and mail but leather and cloth need to be the slimmer leg hugging models :} just my view anyways

Chunky tastes disgusting, smooth and creamy is way better. Who wants to eat big chunks of peanuts and get them caught painfully in your teeth, hindering your enjoyment of that peanut butter jelly sammich? PBJs are based on softness and sticking to your mouth, to later be washed down with milk. Chunks of peanuts, therefore, negate this experience.
