Are Rogues the 1 on 1 kings?

It seems like now a days rogues arent very strong 1 on 1. I know the game isnt balanced around that and its fine. I just want to know why people think rogues are so legendary in duels. I have no problem beating them on 3 or the 4 80s I have that arent rogue. Why are rogues bad 1 on 1 and what class is best 1 on 1?

Mages are definitely the most well rounded in duels.

I have never lost a duel when I'm speced frost, seems to me mages have one of the highest counters vs another player

prot warriors rape rogues 1v1, only classes that can take on prot warrior and win everytime would be mages.

rogues aren't nearly as great anymore. haven't had a decent pvp related buff through like all of Wotlk that i can remember. now everyone else has been buffed enough to be able to counter rogues easily.

I vote that alot of rogues are just bad these days...

Cause really I've beaten anything from equally geared Frost Mages to Prot Warriors (hard as hell though)or Prot Pallies and the only thing I can't beat is a BM hunter because Beastial Wrath is stupid...

you just have to know when to use what and how to use it

My Feral Druid (Tank) easily kills Prot Warriors.

eh, it really depends on the rogue ur dueling...on my rogue i really dont have a problem with any non-plate class, apart from disc priest or feral druids. a nicely timed garrote on a mage can somtimes mean game over, no matter wat spec.. ive won alot more than lost vs mages, but still i must agree mages are number 1 in 1v1s...the burst for arcane or the kiting with frost is deadly

ive beaten plenty of frost mages as a prot warrior (in full PvE gear)
