Why are rogues bad 1 on 1 and what class is best 1 on 1?

Because Rogues aren't the best 1v1 class anymore (They have been for ages) doesn't mean Rogues are a bad 1v1 class...

Best 1v1 spec? Most frequently asked question on MMO-Champion it seems:
1. Frost Mage
2. Feral Druid
3. Affliction Lock/Shadow Priest

They've been the nr. 1 for ages, and now they're somewhere at the 7th/8th place probably. Rogues can always give any class/spec a hard time though, but mostly it's not enough.

Frost mages are the kings of 1v1. Obviously because they are such a balanced class.

Also, shadow priests are very good but, tbh, I find their playstyle mindnumbingly boring.

Dunno why so many are saying frost mages...must be a lot of melee toons responding so far. Frost mages can be easily dismantled by feral druids and enhance shamans. Even Ele Shamans are superior given equal skills/gear. Any healer class can pretty much outlast a mages mana pool while slowly killing the mage, the exception being holy pallies and resto shamans. Shadow Priests can usually beat Frost mages. Warlocks and certain rogues are pretty much on par.

As for 1 vs 1 king...my vote would have to go to Ret pallies. That class is probably the rock with the least amount of papers to cover it.

Shadow Priests are the best 1v1 caster spec/class.
The only true counter they have is Death Knight, and they counter a large number of specs.

Frost mages aren't the best at 1v1 anymore; stop parroting what you heard halfway through the expansion.

edit: and DKs are better than mages for 1v1 as well. :/
Death Knights are undoubtably the best melee for 1v1.

The Dks are definently no.1 in 1v1, i would say at 2'nd place Spriests/lock depends on so much :P but also feral druids do crazy dmg while they can instant heal themself quickly and get alot of exstra healing in cat form.

Rogue's were the 1v1 kings in TBC. But now i would say it's either: Shadow priest/Frost mage/Insect swarm specced Resto druid/Disc priest.

Rogue vs mage = who ever gets the cc off first. So I wouldn't call 50/50 being king

but yeah, frost mages or SP priests, but if i remember correct hunters are (were?) the counter for mages(?) so i'm pretty sure mages got an counter as you say mage is a counter for warriors.

Hunters, pfft. Only things hunters can beat are mages and rogues. Everything else ranges from Tricky to Impossible.

Now, if you wana talk about hunters in PVE gear getting the jump on you in Wintergrasp...yeah, they are damn OP.
