CoD modern warfare 2 question

Heya

So the next weekend me and a couple of mates are gonna take a weekend of gaming/drinking. So basically we invented our own little mw2 drinking game. Anyway to get to my question, Its about system link.

Seeing as i have the xbox 360 standard version (without hdmi), and my friend has the xbox 360 elite. Is it still possible to run system link with a LAN cable? We will be 5 people so, just to be completely sure, its possible to play 2 on 1 xbox, and 3 on the other?..

The only diffrence between the standard and elite is that one is black and has a larger hard drive. So, you should be able to run system link.
