Easy way to shave off $150 is downgrading to i5-750 (and motherboard accordingly) if you're just playing games on the computer. i7 is total overkill unless you're doing something serious with video/picture editing or 3D modeling.

Also I very much recommend being 100% sure you want Razer Naga. It splits opinions 50/50, some people love it, some people hate it. For me for example Razer mice are useless because they're way too small for big paws.

    Trolling should be.

Would the i5 be capable of running SC2 on Ultra and still get 45~ fps?

Main difference between i5 and i7 is hyperthreading, and 0 of current mainstream games can use even 4 cores efficiently.

Also, 5000GB HDD is pretty small by today's standards. Rather take Samsung Spinpoint F3, costs $5 more for double space, and it's faster too.

So, if I took an i5 CPU, would that still be able to handle games, say in 2-3 years?

Also, thanks for the Samsung Spinpoint link.

The i5 and the i7 mentioned here are the same chip the only exception is the i7 has Hyper threading and is clocked a little higher from the factory. The reason ppl get the i5 is to overclock it since it has the same capabilities as the i7 but is cheaper. The 4 gigs of ram you have will be enough you don't need to add more unless you are doing things aside from gaming. For the money you can get a better cpu cooler that Cooler Master V6 GT just looks nice it isn't that good. For another 15 bucks you can get the noctua dh14 which is the best air cooler out. Also I didn't see you list an OS you may have one if not something to think about.

Ah, okay, I will probably overclock it myself to what my cooling can comfortably handle. I listed an OS and the way end of my post. Windows 7 Home Premium from Newegg for 100$.

This brings me to, If i downgrade to an i5 CPU, what else will I have to change for it all to be compatible?

    I5-760
    Sockets Supported-LGA 1156
Memory Types-DDR3-1066/1333 (Info from Intel's website)

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813188055 <has a $40.00 mail in rebate comes to $140.00

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128425 <$120.00 no rebate.

The motherboard you have is socket 1366 you would have to buy another motherboard according to intels website specs. I Would go for the first mobo I linked after the rebate it's 20 bucks more than the second one and it's a quality mobo for sure.

There are some Asus motherboards but I stopped using them so I don't recommend them to people although they have some good mobos as well.

With some of the money you saved grab this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835608018 its out of stock at New egg but other internet sites have it IE tiger/Amazon If you want to spend about 20 bucks more you can get http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Hydro-.../dp/B003XOR00I. The V8's don't perform so well they just look cool.

Also, would it be better to wait for the Intel i7 price to drop to 200$?
The price officially dropped today from the manufacturer and will be at the Microcenter near my house in a few weeks for 200$. This would also allow me to keep my original Gigabyte X58 mobo.

    You are running i7-930.

The i7-950 dropped officially today to 200$ , but will take a while until they reach all of the suppliers.

The 950 is the 930's replacement. 930 getting phased out. I didnt know you meant the 950 was 200 bucks but that makes sense.
