Halion's breath looks a little strange, but cool nonetheless. Also, I'm sure he has dark blue/purple breath.

Hel actually breaths normal fire whilst in the physical realm, but in the twilight realm its fire that just really dark purple with lighter purple highlights.

So could I. But who says it's traced. Copying something from observation is difficult, and is how pretty much every artist works.
What's the point in people posting their art if you are just going to call it pointless and traced >_>

If it was traced, then fine, it didn't take tonnes of skill, but it still looks good, and is a piece people may have seen using a different media.
If it is copied by sight then it is very, very good.
If it is done without reference it is fantastic.

Hey guys I finally got a piece of my work scanned and uploaded! Sorry its just pencil on sketch paper that's been in a sketchbook smearing for about a year now, but it should be dark enough to make out, unlike some of my others.

It's not a great pic, but if you look some of the edges and shapes are not even.

I didn't trace the pic, I did however admire the peice enough to try my own hand at sketching it.

You have to learn to crawl before you can walk. There is no shame in re-drawing another artists render while learning your craft. I started drawing by pausing my Sailor Moon tapes and re-drawing that anime detail for detail. It's like drawing still-life, which is a lot different than putting a piece of tracing paper on top and brainlessly duplicating the lines, even if it'd get the same result.

I don't think discouraging people for trying to learn is helpful. :\ It doesn't need to be original to be good.
