Blizzard Downloader epicly slow, How to speed up?

So, me and my best mate just got inot Beta, but it's going to take us 10 fucking hours to download the installer.

Is it possible to make this bastardly thing go faster?

Or is there a download link for this elsewhere?

(BTW I've forwarded all the ports etc.)

It's taking that long to download the installer, or to download the game through the launcher? Because the actual client download is ~16GB so it's gonna be pretty slow.

It's taken 30 mintues to download 8 %...
And it's only 600mbs. =/

Well, if you've opened all the relevant ports and you don't have a firewall or router blocking it, then I dunno. Could be your ISP throttling it (mine does that, so annoying), but probably not if it didn't affect the PTR installation.

Open the WoW launcher.
Options then downloader preferences.
make sure to check the "Don't throttle background download".

That solved it for me anyways.

OT: Blizz Downloader is epicly slow for a reason.. That's why Blizz is testing out the new stream downloader which is like 100 times faster; for me to download the 5 gigs for the pre-Cata (4.0.1 part 1&2)) took about 2 days, while a 15gig (the PTR pre-Cata patches with stream and had to download it twice) took me 'bout 2hours. A new age for World of Warcraft players is coming!

How fast is your internet connection? Test it at speedtest.net

This and checking p2p gave me a faster download at a cost of very slow gameplay.
Just don't play the game whilst downloading

Download WoWTorrentEx and load via your BitTorrent client.

why does it matter to be honest. its just files for the next patch which isnt even out yet.

if you just let it run when you arent using the computer, before you know it, it will be done downloading.

besides its not like its going to update your wow anyways. all it does, is sit in a folder waiting till blizzard releases the patch on the live servers.
