Faction Change

Hello!
I wasn't sure in which forum to post this, but it is vaguely related to Roleplaying.
I have a question, you see!

If I faction change, my mounts and tabards are
translated into the opposite faction's versions,
I know this much.

BUT! What about ordinary good-looking items?
Say I get a really good looking item from a quest,
an item that the Alliance cannot get, what happens if I faction change to Alliance?

Will I get to keep it?

I believe any item that is faction specific or obtainable only in one side will be changed into something similar or equivalent of the opposite faction. But maybe you get lucky and get an exception, there are a few items I've heard that are one factions, but when race changed to the other side, you get to keep them.
